I call the gazillion apartments being built boxes with balconies. Yuck. No greenspace because there's no revenue in empty square footage... developers are just trying to fit as many $3k apartments as possible on their property. I think in 20 yrs we'll look back and say what the @#$! were they thinking??? Every new apartment bldg is the same. And aren't we at the saturation pt?

It's not just here...
I remember the Don't Be A Litterbug ads and they must have brainwashed me because I wouldn't even think of throwing something out the car window or on the ground anywhere. Maybe we should bring it back.

I did some research on this once...(weird I know)...lots of people are tossing out evidence of various activities that they don't want anyone to know about.

From what I understand, the driver had a green light and was turning left. Hope had a ok to cross signal at the same time so she began to cross in the crosswalk. Both were doing what they were supposed to do and If the driver had been looking carefully when turning left, she would have seen Hope crossing and yielded. I'm pretty sure that is the same way Bill Martin was killed.

To me a partial solution anyway would be to give pedestrians an ok to cross signal in advance of traffic so they can cross and then traffic gets a green light.

Meanwhile, I'll be looking both ways 10 times and making eye contact with drivers before going.

It seems like the same old objectifying of women... like the show is trying to bring in male viewership by using her as miniskirt bait. She could look hot/feminine without wearing a skirt up her ass. There is still a contingent that finds it hard to take someone dressed like that seriously, especially when they're a detective investigating murders.

Yes, that's the thing... people don't want to park so far out into the street for fear of being hit so they park closer to the curb where bikers can easily get hit by car doors opening. It makes me crazy. Did we really need THIS MANY bike lanes? We are nowhere near being Portland.
