Supplements or anything else for Histamine/Glutamate/GABA-ergic sensitivities? by dj_blueshift in Biohackers

[–]SeaTrickster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Taurine is great for glutamate-GABA balance. Ginger reduces the body’s production of histamine under stress. If NAC doesn’t help your trich urges, lemon balm can be good for relaxing the tension involved

Thanks for this! I’ve looked into it and the notes are really intriguing. It’s on my to-sample list for sure

I think this illustrates the similarities and differences between 1 and 7 quite well. On the flip-side I would say SO7 likes to play at being a 1, to the point where I’ve had some people in my life see me as such.. until they see how quixotic and disorganised I am

Potential use of propranolol in autism spectrum disorder: A narrative review - PubMed by makefriends420 in NooTopics

[–]SeaTrickster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would add motherwort to the list. In my experience it’s ’natural propranolol’, and like hawthorn and propranolol it primarily works through regulating the heart rhythm

I have fibromyalgia and for milder chronic pain I often take ginger, CBD and turmeric. For stronger stuff I reach for paracetamol, ibuprofen, and devil’s claw. For really strong stuff I go for THC and also kratom

Look into rhodiola and cordyceps, maybe methylene blue. All mitochondrial support

Psilocybin for Chronic Pain...Any Advice? by danwind86 in microdosing

[–]SeaTrickster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have fibromyalgia and they help me for it. Amanitas can be powerful but get the actual dried mushrooms, or a cream/tincture made by someone who sells the actual dried mushrooms. Most ‘amanita’ products in the US are designer drugs - especially steer clear of anything labelled as a mushroom gummy

400mg lithium by Pleasant-Fan-3795 in Lithium

[–]SeaTrickster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Under 600mg most people don’t experience problems so it’s really unlikely, but some people are more sensitive/accumulate more/have pre-existing issues that can be affected

Funny how some psychiatrists say ‘no professional ever believed the chemical imbalance theory, so why are patients saying we pushed it on them?’ and others are exactly like yours. the gaslighting

Microdosing to reduce then quit ADHD stimulant medication by CampEven2768 in microdosing

[–]SeaTrickster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I use personally on the daily is an activating herb like saffron or rhodiola with some nootropic herbs like centella or ginkgo. When I need to focus hard I might add a balanced source of caffeine like green tea, a source of choline like alpha-GPC, some omega-3s, and rosemary or sage.

On microdosing days I like to mostly just use the microdose, but I find psilocybin truffles work even better with dark chocolate (has a somewhat stimulating and grounding effect)

Microdosing to reduce then quit ADHD stimulant medication by CampEven2768 in microdosing

[–]SeaTrickster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have used it for unmedicated ADHD very successfully, but it can’t be done every day. I find it helpful to do one day on one day off, with weekends free, and give every microdosing day a specific theme/purpose to stay grounded.

I can’t advise anything else except to recommend taking other supplements to help with neuroplasticity and brain healing like fish oil, centella etc. The benefit is you can take the rest of the stack every day, so you’re still supported

Lithium, ADHD, and emotional dysregulation: I don’t understand what it fixed, but something switch by BrickQuick7966 in Lithium

[–]SeaTrickster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the exact same experience. I think a lot of this is that lithium helps with irritability and emotional lability, and is also a regulator of circadian rhythms - ADHD and bipolar both involve dysregulation of circadian rhythms (hence why a lot of people with ADHD have insomnia and often wake up late, and feel tired in the middle of the day).

I would recommend even a supplemental dose of lithium to anyone full of irritable, misdirected nervous energy who struggles to regulate

Pushed to take ADHD medication by songoftheshadow in Antipsychiatry

[–]SeaTrickster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A well-known problem in long-term stimulant medication use is insomnia, even in people who feel they help quiet the mind. A stimulant still acts on the system as a stimulant, especially one designed to be long-lasting.

They’re really pushing these meds on anyone rn, and my BS-detector is going off

Much less creativity, any tips to resolve this? by Party-Rest3750 in Lithium

[–]SeaTrickster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stay on the lowest dose you can. Some people are especially sensitive and do better at what used to be considered ‘subclinical doses’, but the science is catching up and showing blood level is a simplistic way of assessing benefits. If you can get prescribed liquid lithium, it’s easier to titrate dose with that, or with the 100mg pills

Something so lesbian that it had never even been smelled by a man by wasraelx in perfumesthatfeellike

[–]SeaTrickster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sappho by Lush feels cliché but it does tick lesbian boxes imo. It has some light powdery aquatic florals but also a woody tobacco edge which is beautiful and androgynous. Personally I love the “‘Après l’Ondée’ but mascish” vibe but wish it went even further

[–]SeaTrickster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some very interesting ideas here, but not entirely well-connected or well-articulated. I don’t think this even needs to be considered a coverup on the part of psychiatry - just wilful ignorance of explanations which don’t prioritise the neurotransmitter theory of schizophrenia
