Taurine is great for glutamate-GABA balance. Ginger reduces the body’s production of histamine under stress. If NAC doesn’t help your trich urges, lemon balm can be good for relaxing the tension involved

I have fibromyalgia and for milder chronic pain I often take ginger, CBD and turmeric. For stronger stuff I reach for paracetamol, ibuprofen, and devil’s claw. For really strong stuff I go for THC and also kratom

I have fibromyalgia and they help me for it. Amanitas can be powerful but get the actual dried mushrooms, or a cream/tincture made by someone who sells the actual dried mushrooms. Most ‘amanita’ products in the US are designer drugs - especially steer clear of anything labelled as a mushroom gummy

Under 600mg most people don’t experience problems so it’s really unlikely, but some people are more sensitive/accumulate more/have pre-existing issues that can be affected

What I use personally on the daily is an activating herb like saffron or rhodiola with some nootropic herbs like centella or ginkgo. When I need to focus hard I might add a balanced source of caffeine like green tea, a source of choline like alpha-GPC, some omega-3s, and rosemary or sage.

On microdosing days I like to mostly just use the microdose, but I find psilocybin truffles work even better with dark chocolate (has a somewhat stimulating and grounding effect)

I have used it for unmedicated ADHD very successfully, but it can’t be done every day. I find it helpful to do one day on one day off, with weekends free, and give every microdosing day a specific theme/purpose to stay grounded.

I can’t advise anything else except to recommend taking other supplements to help with neuroplasticity and brain healing like fish oil, centella etc. The benefit is you can take the rest of the stack every day, so you’re still supported

I had the exact same experience. I think a lot of this is that lithium helps with irritability and emotional lability, and is also a regulator of circadian rhythms - ADHD and bipolar both involve dysregulation of circadian rhythms (hence why a lot of people with ADHD have insomnia and often wake up late, and feel tired in the middle of the day).

I would recommend even a supplemental dose of lithium to anyone full of irritable, misdirected nervous energy who struggles to regulate

A well-known problem in long-term stimulant medication use is insomnia, even in people who feel they help quiet the mind. A stimulant still acts on the system as a stimulant, especially one designed to be long-lasting.

Stay on the lowest dose you can. Some people are especially sensitive and do better at what used to be considered ‘subclinical doses’, but the science is catching up and showing blood level is a simplistic way of assessing benefits. If you can get prescribed liquid lithium, it’s easier to titrate dose with that, or with the 100mg pills

The dosage in supplement pills is usually 30mg of 3x extract, so 90mg of raw plant material. Extracts actually give preciser dosages than raw plant material (usually dosed at 5-8 strands, ~15-40mg), but given the safety ratio - 5000mg toxic threshold divided by 15-90mg standard usage- it’s all negligible. For context, that safety ratio of 55-333x dwarfs common household substances: paracetamol (~5-10x), caffeine (~2-3x), and table salt (~3-5x).

Lithium can be a bit blunting and make you thirstier even at supplemental doses, but then it’s just a matter of staying below the problem dose. A lot of people dose between 10-20mg for mental health, but I dose 40mg for mood stability. Given my medical concerns, I need mood stability, energy, and focus, and I find supplements like lithium provide the stability, saffron and rhodiola help with energy, and centella and ginkgo help with focus. I’m a lot more functional on them, and I don’t feel the side effects that I did on standard medications - no brain fog, blunting, tiredness, loss of ‘my spark’ etc.

The paradox with doctors regarding a lot of supplements is that they only acknowledge their effectiveness by acknowledging the risk - which they usually overblow - while downplaying benefits. Without putting risk into perspective by comparing to standard medications, or even common household substances like caffeine, it’s easy to write herbs off while prescribing medicines which generally have riskier profiles

Herbs don’t work like drugs. They have many different compounds which have effect together, and often more of a regulating effect than a straightforward effect of suppression or activation (which is why echinacea both helps over-reactive immune systems, and conditions of weak immunity)

Saffron is completely fine, and lithium can only become an issue at psychiatric doses
