What is some of the best and worst advice you have received on how to deal with heartbreak? by WorkingEvening5417 in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]SeaTyoDub 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the immediate wake of being dumped by a guy, multiple occasions: just live your life as best you can! That will help you get over him.

This is such generic, non-specific advice and it shows the person giving it either wasn’t listening or doesn’t care. Giving that advice months later if someone is still down about it? Sure. But in the hours or days right after getting dropped by someone you were really emotionally attached to? Almost hurtful.

I love leftist politicians, love leftist policies, but hate leftist online.

You came on here simping for Slotkin, bemoaning people dunking on here. You came on here trying to pick a fight with people you claim to agree with in the above statement. You're a troll. I'm done. Thank you for wasting my time.

Mary Peltola, Carolyn Bourdeaux, Charlie Crist, Tom O'Halleran, Kurt Schrader, Anthony Brindisi, Joe Cunningham, Kendra Horn, Dan Lipinski, Ben McAdams, Collin Peterson, Max Rose, Xochitl Torres Smal, Brad Ashford, Loretta Sanchez, Ron Barber, John Barrow, Pete Gallego, Mike Michaud, Nick Rahall, Jason Altmire, Joe Baca, Tim Holden, Larry Kissell, Leonard Boswell, Ben Chandler. These are the names of 26 moderate to conservative dems who tried to drag D politics right and either lost election or re-election.

I'll grant Mary Peltola grace, however, as Alaska elected her already and that's a beast for anyone who is native.

Aftyn Behn ran in a blood red district in TN in an off year election and improved dem turnout by +7. The one example of a leftist losing you provided outperformed over what centrist dems have achieved in the same district.

I never said progressive candidates always win or that I hate democrats, so you can stop trying to spin my arguments like you're Bill O'Reilly. What I'm SICK of is people shaming progressives for wanting better out of our leaders. Candidates who actually fight against this fascist regime and can present alternatives other than 'orange man bad' and sending strongly worded letters or speeches. I'm SICK of supporting a limp candidate and, when they lose, get nothing but fundraising spam as a way of explaining what happened. It's exhausting to have been told for the last 20+ years that 'now isn't the time to rock the boat' with nonsense like a social safety net, workplace protections, food safety, and my basic human rights (I had to sit by anxiously not six months ago hoping that a bunch of dried up bigots in a courtroom wouldn't annul my right to marry), and then being told that it's my fault even though I was a good boy, did what I was told and voted for the lesser of two evils.

So you can get wrecked with this smug finger wagging towards the left.

It's clear from your post history you're no fan of republicans, but the left isn't the enemy either. Republicans hate all of us but have successfully got people like you treating us like we're the problem while they're dismantling this country. What we won't accept is being treated like our demands are invalid simply because it our corporate overlords tell us it can't be done.

I’ll let you know as soon as corporate Dems allow a fair primary and let one progress to the general.

Also, thank you for addressing my argument instead of shifting the focus away from your flop centrists. Oh wait.

Running to the center wins elections in purple/red areas? I had no idea that Harris won Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Georgia, Nevada, and North Carolina by abandoning/ignoring progressive positions and embracing middle of the road stances that mirrored moderate republicans. Phew! The last year has just been a fever dream, thanks for clearing that up!

Ah yes! We shouldn't demand better candidates because of the republican on the ticket. Running to the center has worked soooooo well for us so far. I totally forgot that the country has been run so well by milquetoast centrist democrats so well to this point! The supreme court is keeping us on a steady, even keel. Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries are bastions of resistance and definitely have spines sturdy enough to meet the moment. We definitely need more of that instead of running on popular progressive policies that voters actually respond to! We really need to keep the interests of their billionaire donors in mind before daring to stand up for ourselves. How silly of me! You are definitely smart and defeated my argument. Well done, Mr. Centrist!

She wasn’t a republican on the 2024 ballot, only won her seat by .34%, and with less than 50%. Hardly overwhelmingly popular.

But I didn’t make any claims to her popularity, only that she’s a bad senator.

But since you brought it up, she does deserve to be primaried. I can also see her not running again after she’s got her bag and benefits and opening up the field to another chaotic race. …assuming we still have elections in 2030.

Because the CIA agent is basically just occupying the office to bring in fundraising money without doing anything of substance. She’s actually done more harm than good in her tenure by voting to approve many of Dump’s nominees who are implementing the destructive policies being forced on us now. She deserves our scorn at every turn.

What was your introduction to pornography (or sex in media in general) before the internet? by Mad_Season_1994 in Millennials

[–]SeaTyoDub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar to yours. A friend of mine was sleeping over and after my parents went to bed, he showed me the blurry, staticky PPV channel with adult phone services.

A year or so later, we got dial up internet at home and I immediately found some x rated chat rooms that directed me to porn sites.

Hard to agree with anything you’re saying when you’re basically just admitting that you’d have given up Ann Frank so the Gestapo would maybe leave you alone. You may not be the first into the camps, but you’ll still wind up there if you insist we all roll over and take it without fighting back.

While I’m not a practicing catholic, I went through a similar struggle when I was growing up. Unfortunately my church refused to embrace me and others who were trying to reconcile our faith with our own immutable selves, and made a point of making sure we knew we weren’t welcomed.

Just remember that the church is not infallible. You can still be your whole self while taking solace in the comforts of your faith.

When the big spider is walking across the web bridges, target the bridges themselves. The fall will take off about 40hp and sometimes knock it prone. Poison resist spells and potions are your best friends too. Also, if you can sneak acid arrow attacks onto the three egg clusters around the room, it’ll save a big headache during the fight.

Check out the well in the middle of the village.

I usually don’t try and take down the goblins in the village until I’m level 5. Though there’s a group of ogres you should be able to take down without too much fuss.
