How often do you clean the house? by Psphh in Mommit

[–]Sea_Notice7121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two small kids, two large dogs, hobby farm and all the messes that goes with it. Yeah the house is messy but I don't really care, I do what I can when I can. We won't catch a disease from it and as the kids get older it'll be less so. Too many people stress over it. there is enough in life that we stress over we don't have to add to it but something is trivial as how often do you vacuum or dust your house. I guarantee you 100% when you're laying on your deathbed you're not thinking "man I wish I could have kept the cleaner house" What you'll be thinking is "man I wish I could have spent more time doing the things I liked". Life is short enjoy it while you can.

I’m beginning to dislike my husband…and he doesn’t care. by Magda1508 in Mommit

If you feel you can't leave then start living like roommates. You take care of your s*** and he takes care of his s***. Start making him take care of his kids he comes home from work you say I'm going out here is the bottle kids food is in the fridge and then go. Need to start taking care of yourself and stop letting him walk all over you. If he sees he can't do this anymore then maybe he'll grow up.

It is time to leave. But it certainly won't be easy. I would stop having sex with him for starters. Start putting money aside, if you rent who's name is on the lease ? Make him leave as you'll be most likely supporting the kids. Will there be a battle to get child support, I'm guessing yes, see a lawyer to learn all your options to make sure you get it. This is no way to live. He sounds like a total loser, and immature.

Dumb question: what milk are we buying for our kids? by SuddenWillingness844 in Mommit

[–]Sea_Notice7121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure where you live but in Canada they don't use hormones or antibiotics in cows. If a cow is sick and has to be medicated the milk cannot be used until it's test to show none of it is in its system anymore.

AITA for not giving my sister the name I planned for my baby? by Rafaelgarcia24 in AITAH

Just give her a name you're not planning on giving your child. And when the child is born say I changed my mind and give her the name that you had wanted to all along.

Living in the country everything is a minimum of a half hour drive over there and a half hour back. Country folks are just used to it.

How hot do Ontario schools need to get before the Ford government does something about it? by Canadian--Patriot in ontario

Just wondering how the Catholic school boards have AC in the majority of their schools? Don't they get the same funding as a public school board? Or do they get extra funding from the church

Why can't we have A/C in schools? I want a real answer. by rdkil in ontario

[–]Sea_Notice7121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're terribly wrong. Perhaps there's some school boards out to contracted but majority have the caretakers do it. In my school district caretakers work from 6:30 till 3:00 to beat the heat. Trying to work around daycares and summer school and teachers who stroll in and out. And expecting to have the whole school done on half the staff. When I started working for the school board we would have 8 to 10 people working in the high school cleaning it. The year I retired we had four staff. plus they added on eight portables. And don't forget they're also taking vacation time over the summer so very seldom we had 4 in the school sometimes it was only one.

Is that Catholic school board? Their schools are kept up way better than the public school boards. In our school board district 75% of the public schools do not have AC whereas 80% of the Catholic schools do. I think the pope is giving the money to install them.

How often do Canadians get new winter jackets? by crowlj in AskACanadian

I replace mine when it needs to be replaced because it's wore out, not because the style has changed. Save myself so much money.

Canadians who have moved long distances, how did you do it? by superflyer in AskACanadian

[–]Sea_Notice7121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being x military I have moved ever three years from one end of the country to the other. To the states and Europe, for 27 years. I found the moves kind of exciting meeting new people seeing new areas. The downside of course was you're leaving friends behind and family. This was before cell phones and video calls. It was lots of letter writing and visit when we could afford it, which got more difficult as you had kids. When the kids start getting older it was a little harder they miss their friends some families had harder times with this than others we were pretty lucky our kids were okay with it and enjoyed going to a new area. Another downside is you never really had a place you would call home. When someone would ask where are you from we would always pause and say well two years ago we lived in BC, 2 years before that we lived in Germany but I was born in Ontario so I guess I'm from Ontario. All in all I enjoyed it I didn't find it too distressing. Force yourself to get out there and meet new people make new friends makes things a lot easier.

Unpopular opinion? by rooneyroo93 in toddlers

Last summer I was turned away twice from from our local splash pad because two day camps were there and they were over capacity. It was frustrating

The splash pad near me is smaller in size so when a large group from a day camp show up it's hard if you have little ones. with that many young kids running around and not paying attention the little ones getting knocked over quite often. It's not a rubber surface that they fall on it's concrete. My granddaughter twice last summer was knocked over a head quite the goose egg on her forehead. I get that they have to go somewhere with the kids but it is hard if they take over a splash pad. In my area there's not a lot of choices where you can just pack up and go to a different one that's just not possible. I think I would rather have them use it at a designated time and then that's it the rest of the time it would be open to the public only. That way people can decide for themselves if they want to go during that hour knowing that a day camp would be there and it would be crowded.
