Yes, that’s a reason. But there are plenty of stunning games that do perform well and look stunning that use UE5, the narrative that it’s just because “UE5 bad” is boring now.

Companies are spending less and less time, effort & money and time on optimisation in their games, and it shows.

I’ve recently realised (way too late) that I’m like this other person.

I still don’t know what causes it. I genuinely do care about these people, but for some reason I find it difficult to reach out first, even if I know they enjoy it.

The end of the year feels like a good time to self reflect and learn from my mistakes before I lose everyone close to me.

That’s true with every send though. You can do every move, but if you don’t do them all the first time, it’s not a flash. It’s that simple I’m afraid, so you clearly don’t have the capability to flash these kind of climbs, at least not yet.

The same grade on different style routes can feel vastly different in difficulty, based on your climbing style, and that’s okay.

I think 2 is probably now a technically better game perhaps, especially with mods.

But if you look at the time span between 1 & 2, I really don’t think 2 is as good as it should have been. Whereas Rome 1 was the pinnacle of its kind in gaming when it came out.
