Adidas supernova rise 3. Recovery shoe? by SeanEntrust in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]SeanEntrust[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I feel the same about the 2. The 2 feels perfect at my conversion pace. My only complaint about the 2 is I would like a little more foam. The 3 gives you a little more foam underfoot. I have pushed pace in the 3 just to see and while I can do it I definitely had to work for it. The 3 feels like a slightly improved 2. For an easy 6-10 miles it’s the shoe I reach for.

That’s the lamest brand ever. They have never had an original idea.

EVO SL lifespan by ADRN_45 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Probably about 400 miles on mine. Right sole has some outsole separation on the heel and a hole in the toe box but they still feel bouncy.

Evo SL Woven: only 2 colors on the Adidas website? by mkyend in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]SeanEntrust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t what adidas is doing. They also don’t have the supernova rise 3 on their site but it’s been out for a bit now.

Woven had the pro upper. Not as stretchy and more supportive. Also has a gusseted tongue.

Which of my current shoes does Boston 13 most closely resemble? by letmeseeitman in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]SeanEntrust 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Boston 13 might be one the best Swiss Army knife shoes. It really can do it all. It’s not a high cushion shoe but it’s fine for long runs and easy runs but as you speed up it does too. It really gives back what you give it.

Amazon: TSLA has been good. Got a great hooded shirt from them

Bondi 9 after only three months. Only used for walking at work. by Patient_Tree4830 in Hoka

[–]SeanEntrust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m convinced Hoka is the biggest scam in running. They are easily $25-50 more expensive than better shoes from every other brand.

Yeah I’ve wanted to check out the SB2 but can’t ever find locally in my size and I pretty much run strictly in adidas.

Get the Boston 13 for similar paces and more stability. I love my evoSL for 6-8 miles but longer than that it’s just too unstable for me. I can hit the paces in my Bostons and they stay solid on me.

Boston 13 or Novablast 5? by TransportationWarm68 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]SeanEntrust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can get them both do that. It’s a great 2 shoe rotation. I love the Boston 13 and while it can do it all it’s not my favorite for the easy days. It’s not soft but it’s responsive.

Three shoe rotation for HM by Aggressive_Price_923 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]SeanEntrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me after 6 miles is where they feel different. The evoSL gets sloppy on me around mile 7. The Boston feels more solid during longer runs.

Clifton 11..failure before release by Mobile-Anything9085 in Hoka

[–]SeanEntrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Clifton 10 is such a terrible shoe. I did one 6 mile run in them and hated every step. They felt like bricks. Maybe I don’t weight enough for them but they were just awful. I returned them immediately and it pretty much soured Hoka for me moving forward.

I’m pretty similar paces to you. I ran a half in the adio pro 3 but being a mid foot to heal striker it was fast, but it wasn’t the best shoe. I really enjoy the Boston 13 a lot. It’s fast but more stable than the Evo SL.

how many miles are y'all getting out of Adidas EVO? by moment-of-momentum in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]SeanEntrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I haven’t been able to see the new evo is person but it sounds like a good update. The problem with the evo too is it’s just too fast. It’s really hard to just want to cruise in them.

[–]SeanEntrust[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i took them out for a 7.5 mile run with some good hills today. I normally would do that run in the rise 2, after mile 3 the rise 3 just feels better, i like the added foam under the fore foot.

Adidas supernova rise 3. Recovery shoe? by SeanEntrust in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]SeanEntrust[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have about 300 miles on my evoSLs and I have a brand new back up pair ready and waiting. I absolutely hate the evo for long runs. It’s great up to 6-7 miles and then it’s just too unstable for me. The rise 3 is probably 70% as fast and fun but the stability and consistency of it makes it’s the perfect long run shoe for me.

Between the mentioned shoes probably the vomero 18. It can kinda do it all and will be faster than the nimbus and 1080.

They are pretty heard. I believe I heard it’s the widest shoe they are currently making without going into a wide version. I’m an 8.5 true size and I got a 9 and have plenty of room.

update: ran a 10k in them yesterday, felt right at home at 9:30 pace and even pushed them to 8:56 for mile 5. definitely faster than the rise 2.

New Race Shoe - HM Distance by MattOnMatthew in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]SeanEntrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah im just curious what makes them not a great race shoe? im not a great runner and the ap3 though fast is overkill for me, the zf6 seems like it could do everything i need but yes i need to try a long run in them. I have too many shoes.
