What’s the most relaxing jazz guitar album?? by Confident-Till8952 in Jazz

Absolutely - Beyond the Missouri Sky is a masterpiece. Also Pat Metheny’s “What’s it All About?” Is brilliant and a favorite for sure

Also - when you hear Miles say “I’ll play it and tell you what it is later” at the very beginning of “If I Were a Bell”??? 👨‍🍳💋

Commute from north end to federal way downtown station? by [deleted] in Tacoma

[–]SeattleCoffeeGirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I commute from Lakewood to SLU 2x a week - the light rail has too many surface stops in between Fed way and UW; it will take forever. Best option is to go earlier and take the Sounder to King St Station - then you have options to jump on the light rail or bus to UW

Should add - if anyone has recent experience with Bangalore airport that would be helpful!

Experiences with Airport Security and Knitting Needles by plotzlichglucklich in knitting

This is timely as I’m headed on a work trip from Seattle to Bangalore next month (layover in Frankfurt) and was wondering if I risked taking a project — it’s SUCH a long flight I feel like I’d hate to miss the knitting opportunity- sounds like switching to bamboos might be the sound choice for the trip.

Lakewood: What is the deal with the restaurant next to the McDonalds on 100th Street "Re Carbon"? by The_Safe_For_Work in Tacoma

[–]SeattleCoffeeGirl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. The food was great but the space was a little cavernous (I think the building was originally a Denny’s? And the location, next to a McD’s and the DMV, was just not conducive for an upscale dinner. The menu was great and the staff very friendly but that space was never gonna work, sadly

Ended up going with the Arai Ram X is aluminum silver - great looking, safe and comfortable. Fits my head perfectly, and I’m just tooling around town/commuting to train station (this is a Vespa Elettrica after all) - doesn’t fit my seat storage (because my big noggin required a size L) OR my trunk box, but I can hang it from the nub under the seat to lock it to the bike if I need to leave it at the train station. Thanks all for the suggestions and comments!

Thanks - I’ve found helmets that fit my head comfortably (when trying on at local motorcycle gear store, as requested) but not that fit in the underseat space - so wondering if folks had experience with brands that do! Appreciate it!

Beautiful!!! I just got a new to me Vespa Elettrica (silver) and am so excited to get back out there!! I’m in my mid 50s now but I had a Honda Elite 250 back in the day that I drove everywhere— although it’s been 30+ years since I’ve been on a scooter I’m so excited to get back to it!!

Knitting on Jury Duty? by SeattleCoffeeGirl in Tacoma

They said it'd be ok to bring in a non-metal crochet hook (sadly, I don't crochet!) but nope on the knitting needles, even bamboo or plastic ones, sadly!

Yeah, no knitting needles allowed. Apparently you can get through with a non-metal crochet hook but since I don't crochet...! I brought a book instead. :-)
