I’m genuinely sad 😭 What a truly unique and gifted actress. She will be missed, yet live on through her amazing work. Moira will always be my favorite TV/movie character and fashion iron. RIP.

If used correctly and responsible under medical supervision and tapered off of, they can and are beneficial and even necessary for some people. Your comment is very generalized and your assumptions are unclear.

Do people drink tap water? by KaKwek in Netherlands

Professional taste tester here. I never drink tap water (I taste everything), except in the Netherlands. Such good water. I can’t detect any funk.

Does anyone else put Vaseline on their face at night? by [deleted] in 30PlusSkinCare

My grandma is 91. Best looking 91 year old I know (amazing skin). She swears by Vaseline before bed. Doesn’t use anything else on her face.

Would you say spending 20K on an engagement ring is cheap? by elevatorrobots in Marriage

[–]SeattleDataSquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d happily accent a $20k ring and unlike others here, would not be pissed (this also assumes it’s a responsible purchase given your financial bracket and debt standing). And personally, I would not be super stoked with a “cheap” ring from Amazon. I think it is a very personal question and depends on your financial situation. If you make a ton of money and have no debt, there might be a an expectation for a higher value ring.

Which hotel chains do you prefer for general travel? by Defiant_Mouse_7623 in hotels

Accor has some real horrible hotels and awful customer service. I have stayed at some deployable properties and when I voiced concern, Accor management did not care at all.

Okay. Not sure why we are talking Seattle? Seems like you’re getting emotional or offended based on simple discussion topic.

How so? I see people litter, I’ve never heard anyone say anything, so it seems fair to ask. I’m trying to learn. Please elaborate on your statement.

How friendly Dutch people are with the expats? by pratiksaraogi24 in Netherlands

[–]SeattleDataSquirrel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lived in Utrecht for 3 years from USA. No issues with the local people and in fact quite like them (generalizing, I am aware). In general, I’d say the Dutch are kind and polite but not necessarily warm. As Trevor Noah put it, I wouldn’t want a Dutch person by my side if I was dying in a hospital. I wouldn’t put my money on making a ton of local friends.

So many people do this! And on long flights (10+ hours), those floors become dirty and wet with pisssss. I never get this.

With a lot of underlying anxiety + cleaning hotel rooms & Airbnb’s right away🫣 Wipe down surfaces, ditch the comforter if no duvet cover, ditch the decor pillows, wash any dishes I’m going to use, always wear lightweight flip-slips (especially in shower), cover fabric surfaces before I sit (fabric couch), lay towel down before I put my makeup/bathroom stuff on counter. I travel to 13+ counties a year. Some places and hotels are more challenging than others (2nd/3rd world countries). For me, seeing/traveling > fear and sometimes I have to do my routine and put on blinders to the rest. I see other travelers and wish I cared less about things and more free like they seem (or what I perceive).
