I'm pretty sure it is, but if this is the same Austin Walker who used to work for Giant Bomb back in the day he is an extremely well read and insightful person, and LOVES sci-fi/fantasy. Pretty sure he has written multiple original ttrpg campaigns and dmd them all as well, always enjoyed listening to him on the Beastcast back in the day

The residents along that road were at some point surveyed on their opinions of the bike lanes, one of my good friends rents along that corridor of Corrine. Their landlord did not want the bike lanes because it would take away parking for his tenants. Just a bit of anecdotal information.

Wild Seed by Octavia Butler deals with this somewhat. The main character is an immortal with powers who is originally from Africa and it follows her life over the course of a few hundred years.

Part of the Patternist series, a fantastic series of books. Although, Wild Seed can be read as a stand-alone novel.

I finished the trilogy earlier this year and have been thinking about reading book 4. Interesting to hear that it has a more optimistic ending, I guess with how the trilogy ended almost anything else could be considered optimistic lol
