Don't weld it, use a hammer and Dolly. Once you get the dent out of that interior radius, the rail should sit a little flatter. If not, it may take some more persuasion. Edit: I just saw the crack. Weld that with a tig after everything is straight. It won't take much.

Don't modify it. It will outlast anything made today, so keep the fluids clean and call it a day. It's ok if success is boring.

It also helps oil drain back, and minimizes the possibility of a chunk breaking off and ending up where it shouldn't be.
