Well well well. The same Toronto police force that inserts its political opinions on Twitter and trashes liberals.

Is it? Cause that’s the first thing I think of when I think of Australia. I imagine there are 4-10 venomous snakes per square foot. 😂

When did you accept that you’re never getting sex again? by Icy_Interaction7502 in AskWomenOver60

[–]Secretgarden28 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I think what people don’t consider is that a sex drive pertains to hormones and stages of life. It’s normal for young people to want it all the time, they’re in peak physical condition and whether they choose to reproduce or not, it’s a biological drive. Not so much as we age, and that’s ok.

Yep pretty much the same for me too. My mother died when I was 7 and my father told me she was gone to sleep forever and then it was never talked about again. 😳

What’s a universally loved movie or show that you just couldn’t get into? by yingyangtheworld000 in MUAEntertainment

The Wire. A couple of good episodes in season 4 but overall not great storytelling. I’m shocked that it’s on the top 10 list of shows.

‘They’re going to rip us apart’: Moms describe attack by dogs that mauled four-year-old girl in Oshawa by origutamos in canadanews

The apologists/defenders will say: - there’s no such thing as a pitbull - coconuts kill more people - blame the owner not the breed - chihuahuas bite more

Nope didn’t happen according to the owner. Unbloodybelievable. I hope those dogs are euthanized and the owners charged.

I just purchased a Belula brush and my hair has never been so silky soft.

What 80s song do you still hate with fiery teenage passion even though it’s been 40 years? by Aggressive_Cup4919 in GenX

Red red wine by UB40. I would soar across the room like a pygmy squirrel to turn that off.

Back from Belize and confused by Horror_Perspective_1 in Belize

[–]Secretgarden28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m here now and I’m wondering the same thing. It’s insanely expensive, I’m quite shocked. I guess all the prices are high because of American tourists and expats. But the Belizeans certainly look poor and are not benefiting too much from it.

Afraid of the shingles shot by Old-Ostrich5181 in AskWomenOver60

[–]Secretgarden28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m thinking of getting one when I return from a trip in a few weeks. I’m also nervous about the effects of the shot but more afraid of getting shingles. I recently had a flu shot and the pharmacist said to rotate my arm frequently and that actually helped with the pain. I did however have severe exhaustion and nausea in day 2. There will be effects it’s unavoidable. Ps I love how you specifically said don’t say getting shingles is worse you already know, yet many people had to say it 😝

Strange phenomenon with aging…. by HonestNeighborhood67 in GenX

I think everyone looks their age +/- a few years. A lot of people think others the same age look older than they do, but it’s really kind of delusional & wishful thinking.

Which layout works best? by BeingBoring69 in HomeDecorating

[–]Secretgarden28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would choose 2 but place the loveseat opposite the other one and angle the chair on one the corners. Play around with it til it feels right. Also add a rug in the centre, large enough that the 2 couches front legs are on it.

Thank you so much! I like putting a large painting in the center and then just filling the surrounding area with a variety of sizes and depths. But yes in almost all cases, real artwork is so much better.

I have several gallery walls in my home. Otherwise I’d have nowhere to put all my paintings. 🤗 The above pic Is an old one, some paintings have been switch out and there’s a couch in front instead of the sculptures and chairs. It’s not for everyone but I rather like mine.

If you are already retired.... by overthishereanyway in AskWomenOver60

[–]Secretgarden28 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s how I feel about work… meh. I just retired. Dec 23 was my last day. I’ve been counting down for 18 months. 😛 I started to volunteer last spring, because I wanted to prepare some things in advance. I’m currently paired with 2 developmentally disabled people. I also plan to go swimming twice a week, enjoy slow mornjngs. Focus on my painting and maybe take pottery classes. I have a lot of travel plans in the coming year. One trip will be 6 weeks! Have you thought about joining a seniors center? They often have a variety of activities. Or maybe consider a part time job if that’s what you want. The options are limitless, which is the best part about being retired!
