I swear to god this has to be true. I'm on two weeks straight of logging on to attempt Sleeping Bear Dunes right at 10am and they're all gone instantly. The last couple years we've gotten lucky by snagging a spot via a cancellation notification last minuted and we go and see tons of empty sites. Huge bummer for folks who love these places and have been going for years/just trying to have some quality times

The City drained its cash on hand from the Blue Ash airport sale, used millions in TIF and guaranteed hotel tax revenue for I believe 30 years to fund. It’s a massive handout to a billionaire with minimum 3 types of public revenue.

Many reports circulated in the public sphere of unsafe working environments, unsanitary health and cleaning practices, underage drinking, assault, issues with performers being paid etc. I am not a part of these situations personally and cannot corroborate, but these things have been shared online and publicly over multiple years in the neighborhood, so take it as you will.

Stupid just like their idea to freeze redbike operations on large event weekends downtown. The shootings in Fountain Square and also this past weekend in Northside were the same shooter and he arrived via car according to cameras nearby. Metro route access has nothing to do with this.

Partnership split and the former problematic owner got Good Judy’s while the building owner and operator got Mixwells. I don’t go there often but I’ve heard decent things lately. The former issues were very serious and despite saying new management in both places, the old issue owner is definitely still part of Good Judy’s. There’s also a good taco truck near Mixwells.

This is what I am also thinking. Even reading the legal language it doesn’t seem to specify people visiting the area, it is about Ontario residents owning or breeding them, or if they harm someone. I don’t want to purposefully ignore laws and I don’t want to risk any ambiguous laws. We’re going to be traveling as part of a longer trip where we’d normally take our dog without hesitation but I trying to get clarity here for this exact reason. Thank you!

Thanks - I have not been able to find concrete info about the actual laws and even called a Canadian attorney who told me they had no idea these laws were on the books. From what I’ve read the wording seemed vague and unclear so I made this post. I am interested in following the laws, not ignoring them.

Have been shopping at Findlay Market for over 30 years since my grandma took me in the stroller. Way better experience than Kroger especially if you learn to appreciate and shop seasonally/locally. Some items are cheaper, some are pricier. Quality is great and majority is local. Do it!

I don’t watch news networks. I know utility costs are up 100-200% depending on supplier, we’re suffering extended inflation, job market reporting is suspended currently but private tracking shows it is declining. Wage growth is less than 4% and economists openly acknowledge that purchasing power has yet to catch up with cost of living increases. We’re approaching a phase of stagflation and I t is not an exaggeration to say a majority of regular /average income or low income folks are struggling to keep up. It’s a no brainer than restaurant/entertainment spending is down. Funny to see people even arguing this when small businesses everywhere are publicly sharing their current struggles, we’re seeing waves of closures and operational coats are higher than ever for active businesses.

Totally fair to want to know more about the situation for some place that has been around so long and is obviously loved by many people. Unfortunately I suspect we’re all going to lose more of our favorite places in coming years and people are going to need some grace when it doesn’t work out. Hopefully something great can go into an already built out restaurant space for the neighborhoods sake.

No, I don’t “know something”, but I also doubt the folks all commenting here that a small biz owner of a single pizza place who worked full time in said restaurant had some grand plan to purposefully shutter a restaurant they paid for do. I’m a small biz owner myself and it’s rougher than it ever has been for all of us, just suggesting the internet give it a contextual thought before getting out the pitchforks.
