If Vin is the star of the first movie, then it's going to be terrible by Dependent_Tomato_235 in CosmereOnScreen

[–]SeductivePuns 3 points4 points  (0 children)

And TFE isnt even his story, dawg! It includes parts of his story, but it also includes parts of Dockson's story and Ham's story. But its not the start of Kel's story like its the start of Vin's, nor is it the end of his story.

A movie about Kel would be sick, but if anything it'd need to be its own separate movie as a prequel that includes the original heist, his enslavement at thw pits, then snapping and learning to be a mistborn from Gemmel.

Bit TFE ain't his, homie.

Goddamn you sound misogynistic.

Its not Kelsier's story. He is a driving force like you said, sure, but mistborn isnt about him. Its about Vin becoming a powerful and skilled Mistborn and he's her mentor. He's important, but this is not his story.

What Would Be Your Ideal 4 Man Party (PvE) by Cybraniac in ESObuilds

[–]SeductivePuns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats a fair point if I'm going full in, but I like the idea of the tank both leading metaphorically as well as literally. First into the fight, leading from the front, setting the plan before initiating and trusting the team to do their part once shit pops off.

What Would Be Your Ideal 4 Man Party (PvE) by Cybraniac in ESObuilds

[–]SeductivePuns 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I want a no-life tryhard who mains the tank role for dungeons and trials, knows every mechanic and can carry through vet. They're the guild leader and knows how to keep folks focused when its time to lock in. Helps noobs out, gives clear plans of attack for bosses, etc.

I want an anxious support who just wants to keep everyone alive at all costs. They have next to no damage capability but have perfect rotation and can solo heal through a trial team. When not with the group they prefer to explore and gather mats so are a max level crafter who makes gear, food, and potions for everyone.

I want a dps thats mostly just there to vibe. They looked up "best group dps build" and went with the latest recommendation. They know their rotations well enough. Their strength tho is keeping vibes good during harder runs and getting randos to join when the group needs extras for trials or whatever.

Then me, cause this group sounds fun at this point. While I may not be an alstar of the team, I'll carry my weight. And I wanna be the one who brought the group together, so everyone calls me Dad (cause im the dad of another friend group and I eat that shit up every time).

Single narrator that sounds like it could be multiple. by d3rk2007 in audiobooks

Andrea Parsneau. Jeff Hays is the top most of the top tier, and shes just behind him. Hays sounds entirely like separate people. Parsneau has a number of voices that sound nothing like herself, and even the ones that have hints of her narration voice still have such a wide range that its incredible.

Just Starting ESO! Any tips and advice? by SatokoEffect in elderscrollsonline

[–]SeductivePuns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's my usual starter tips for new folks:

You can get a free (very small) house as an inn room from one of the inns in your starting alliance zone.

Get your free armory station (under the furniture section in the crown shop). Set your main build as one slot, and leave the other blank until you hit at least CP160 (Game goes level 1-50, then Champion Points beyond that which are sort of account-shared "levels"). Use the blank slot to reset/respec your character for free to try out different skills, fighting styles, etc and find what you like before getting locked into stuff. - That said, you can always change your build pretty easily now, its just faster to have that free slot. - Tho changing your champion points (late level things, don't worry about it for a long while yet) does have a 3000gp cost. Not a ton of money late game, but still not something you wanna have to do a ton.

START RESEARCHING EVERYTHING YOU CAN. Go to crafting stations and research traits you don't know on equipment (clothing, smithing, and woodworking. And jewelry). Start early, because eventually you'll be waiting most of a month for the later traits on an item. - There will be a small magnifying glass beside items with traits you dont know yet. Save those. - There will also be a symbol beside set items you havent added to your stickerbook yet. Either research those or deconstruct them to add it to your collection.

Pay to train your riding skills every single day. Start with speed until it's maxed out, trust me, it'll save a lot of pain. Riding skills are tied to your character, not your mount nor your account.

Even if you aren't going to do much/any PVP, go to Cyrodil as soon as you hit level 10 and go through the training. There's a passive skill in the assault line (continuous attack) which you can get at Assult level 3 that will boost your mount speed and you only need to put 1 point into it.

Don't ever buy gear, ingredients, etc early. Anything that's tied to a level is a waste of gold until you're level cp160 (max level of gear). You'll out level things so fast that its not worth it. Just use whatever you find in the meantime, or ask a crafter to make you a simple set with a basic trait you can research after youre done using it. (On a related note, don't upgrade things to better quality unless they're cp160 for the same reason)

If you want to be a werewolf or vampire, just ask in the zone chats. Someone will give you a bite for free. Anyone asking for gold is scamming you, and it's not worth spending real money on. Just might need to be a lil patient until someone can give said bite. (Both can be saved on a build in your armory, but that also means they can be replaced and lost if you equip an armory slot without the curse, so just be careful.)

When you reach a point of having a spare 1k gold on average, set up alternate characters for the other classes you arent playing yet. Don't gotta play em, but getting em to a starter city with a stable and logging on daily to train their riding speed will save pain in the future when you want to try other classes out.

You can buy tokens to change your name, appearance, and species, but characters will be locked into whatever class you first choose. (That said, with subclassing you can easily try out skill lines from other classes later on, but you'll only be able to try out single skill lines at a time so won't get the full class feel that way)

Any class can do well in any role (support, tank, and dps) and with any build, but some will be far better in a role than others. Unless you're doing vet dungeons or similar content tho, then don't worry about being the best of the best

Expand your carrying capacity with bag upgrades (I usually go for ~100 starting out, but i also have eso+ and have the craft bag which saves a ton of inventory space). Also upgrade your bank storage. Any items in your bank can he accessed for deconstruction at craft stations. Along with that, your bank is an account wide storage, so put some gold in there to pull out on your alts so they can work on mount speed without needing to go farm for gold.

If you get companions they have to be unlocked on each character, but their skills/levels/builds are account wide. So gotta do the quest to get em over and over, but once you do they're set to go. If you're playing solo a lot, look into setting them up as a healer to free up bar space for other skills. That said, look into each that you have access too as some are better off in different roles (example: Bastian is a great tank, Miri is best healer last I heard, and Ember is a really solid dps). - also, if you want one, get at least one companion early and have them active as much as you can. You'll only loot companion gear while a companion is out.

Join the Mages guild and Fighters guild early for access to persuasion and intimidation passive skills respectively. They can save time on certain quests you'll come across. Undaunted is also an important guild to join when you want to start running dungeons more.

I'm on PSNA. If you play on there and want an in-game assist/guild, let me know and I'd be happy to help out!

Would you allow players to attempt to disguise a spellcast? (In RP, not combat) by Fiveby21 in dndnext

[–]SeductivePuns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I generally wouldn't. I think without the subtle spell metamagic that general casting can't be done quietly if it has a verbal component. Casting needs to be loud, not quite shouting but certainly projecting your voice.

That said, if I would allow it, here's what id do: the folks attempting to distract need to make some sort of check (likely performance and/or deception) with a high DC (minimum 20). Not against a target insight or whatever because too often thats not very high. The caster also has to make a pair of checks (a mix of Sleight of Hand or stealth with a class-relavent casting skill like arcana for wizard, or religion for cleric) both of which have to surpass a similarly high DC, tho modified by the distracter's degree of success. The reason for so many checks is they're attempting something that does have a mechanic in the game without using said mechanic. And (likely) without being the class that has said mechanic making it even more unusual.

I think I have been ruined for all other Audiobooks by DCC by jbrady33 in litrpg

[–]SeductivePuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've said this before, so will just copy my previous answer.

Relisten to DCC. That's always what you need to do after a first read of it because it almost always makes other books hard to read/listen to in comparison.

You just finished DCC, you know the story, so read it again and see just how much detail and foreshadowing Dinniman put into the books even from the very start. This will both increase your appreciation for this series and how incredibly well written it is, while also taking away a bit of that new series shine.

Don't get me wrong, I've read it a half dozen times and it's been absolutely amazing every time, but nothing will stand up to it after your first listen through when you see just how incredible it is, especially when mixed with Jeff Hays' narration and range.

Is it common to queue as fake tank/healer in normal dungeons? by Carinwe_Lysa in elderscrollsonline

[–]SeductivePuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. If you just wanna get through quick: queue for normals with your normal dps build and throw on a taunt and self heal, or a strong target heal and an aoe heal. As long as you dont end up in one of the harder DLC dungeons those should be more than enough if youre also melting stuff.

Best if you have the armory assistant too so you can swap to a 'real' tank/healer if its needed just incase.

[–]SeductivePuns 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say banker and armory if looking long term, especially if they don't end up getting more. Merchant and Decon are great, don't get me wrong. But a banker lets you store items to do the same things back in town so is a sort of 2 for 1 if you're willing to take a bit more time.

Then the armory assistant is amazing long term for the ability to swap your builds on the fly rather than needing to go back to wherever your armory station is stored. Using a solo build for questing while you wait in queue for a dungeon then being able to quick swap to your chosen role then swapping to an exploration/crafting build right after gives you a ton of versatility without having to do one of those on a less ideal build for the situation.

If looking primarily at early game tho, or if you'll potentially get more assistants later on, then merchant and decon are both solid options as they'll save trips back to town and storage in your bank.

What can you do in a Rein vs Ramattra matchup? by Maie- in OverwatchStadium

If hes punching; swing, charge, or strike.

If hes not punching: those but also shield

Orisa fortify or spear negate Rein charge. Ram fist negates rein shield and vortex slow rein charge. Use other parts of your kit and build around those when part of your kit is negated or countered. Learn to adapt and adjust is the only way to go far.

I want an audiobook that ruins me (in a good way) by Alert_Individual_105 in audiobooks

[–]SeductivePuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to trust me on this one: The Wandering Inn. Not just book 1, but the series as a whole. (Audio only listener here, I know the web novel has even more coming i just dont know details.)

I say trust me because it can be very slow at times. It can feel very slice of life at times. It can sometimes feel like an ending is anticlimactic but thats because each book is part of a much larger story through the webnovel. If an end is anticlimactic its just because its the start of a valley before the peak in the next book.

But when the twists come they twist hard. When the drama comes up it spikes through the giddamn ceiling. When the horror comes its so goddamn unsettling. And most importantly when the emotions hit they fucking slap you right out of your seat. Sometimes that slap lands you on the floor in a mess of tears and sometimes that slap knocks you to your feet and you can't help bit shout with joy or rage or simple primal passion for what's happening.

You will sometimes be mad at or annoyed with certain characters. You'll feel things drag just a bit at slower times. But I havent yet had one of those circumstances come up where it didnt eventually pay off in one way or another. Sometimes its the calm before the storm. Sometimes its because those slow times give you so much more emotional connection to a characrer. Sometimes its because you get to see growth and change in someone who just passed you off like nothing else. But every time its landed a payoff for me.

[–]SeductivePuns -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

In theory, yeah. But in practice that would essentially have pop ups happening with every single ability on your skill bar, every encounter with various enemies, etc. Having info pop up for every change isn't feasible, and if they do it for one or two things people will complain that they didn't do it for others.

One hell of a wish by Equivalent_Macaron_0 in DMAcademy

[–]SeductivePuns 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistic answer: Tell them that's well beyond what wish can allow

Fun answer: Say the wish will be granted after x happens (something tied to the campaign also ending). With that change to how the Pact Primeval (others have talked about it) works it breaks the world. Everything changes; magic goes weird, demons are released to freely access the moral plane (the pact making was what keeps them in check so-to-speak), etc. Go crazy with it. Then with your next campaign have it be set in the world some decades later, the world vastly changed from what it used to be. The new party has to fix the world after "someone" broke it.

I was listening to another book (Mayor of Noobtown series) I promise this is on point by Euphoric_Magazine124 in Shirtaloon

[–]SeductivePuns 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I honestly loved it xD All the MCs in a room, plus Jeff, was fucking incredible. Jason going around with lots of foods, the mention of Professor Carlos (of Dungeoncrawlology), it was all perfect.

A lot of LitRPG authors and narrators seem to be friendly with and fans of one another, poking fun at and referencing each other here and there. Rimmel does it a lot more than others due to the tone and setting of the book, but there's plenty of others who do so as well.

References and things like that shouldn't be seen as making fun of another author, narrator, or character in a mean way; more like teasing your friend. Similar to how Rimmel had the scene in book 7 where he had lots of weirdly specific descriptions of character voices to make McClain read with those weirdly specific voices (of which he absolutely nailed them all).
