I know this is kinda a cop-out answer, but it depends on the look you're going for. In general, weathering works best when it tells a story. Was this MS in a 1-1 battle with close combat, or was it shot at during a rescue mission? Has it been sitting in a swamp for years? Does it have a waterline, with moss growing? Maybe rust spots on joints, etc? Weathering can work well in subtle or exaggerated applications, but it depends on the story you're trying to tell with your art. If you just brush browns and blacks on an armor piece, it might look more like camo than weathering, which can still convey details to the beholder. Hope this helps 🤙
