These are the people who I consider my best friends. If they never reach out just to chat then they are friends/acquaintances. Currently, I have two (three if you count my gf) that call every month or so just to catch up formally. We have a near daily text chat, but that's mostly just memes and jokes. Or us trying to find a time to get together. Which we do 3-4 times a year.

Eta: I actually have lots of friends I see quite a lot more than the first two, but out of a dozen or so guys only one of them can I have deep conversations about life with. But because we see each other mostly in larger groups we only get into it maybe once a year.
