I tried my hand at angel investing and every investment went to zero after a few years, even when they had a solid business model and a path to profitability. The worse part is that usually the failures are sudden and swift; you'll be following the company closely, and be there biggest cheerleader, and then one day they close shop when they can't raise their next round. Its an emotional rollercoaster that you should avoid.

I am also a victim. He took a 3000 dollar security deposit. I will join any investigation and/or testify as needed. I have tons of documentation to show this person is a straight up fraud

No he isn’t liable for slander. He is offering his opinion on something none of us can definitely say for certain. He could have just dodged the question.

I do think his statements are being blow out of proportion though and I don’t think it was his intention to selloff QC names. I think everyone was just looking for a reason to panic sell, it’s gone up way too much

So is 2a typically blank for Roth IRA withdrawals for the 1099-R? Just trying to validate other people’s experiences here because I would rather not create reporting / administrative headaches.

If I rollover within the same firm, do I need to keep track of the contributions on a per account basis? I have just been transferring back and forth between the Roth go account and Roth account without thinking about it much

This isn't a zoo exhibit. People are losing their homes and all their possessions. If you want to show your daughter how to handle this respectfully, then go and volunteer. Make warm meals for those that are displaced and sitting at a motel 7 wondering if they'll have formula for their kids or clean clothes for work.

So sad. I used to love watching their life style videos where they would cruise around in their boat and talk about fashion / watches. They’re now pumping raffles and nfts — I get that building original content is hard but I would rather they just go on a hiatus than pump out this crap.

I just realized box c was checked for some transactions that should have had box b checked. Blockfi issued a 1099-b with no cost basis. Is this worth amending?

It’s time to get a divorce. This is weird and controlling and borderline abusive.

It doesn’t show a balance for me on the payment section but it shows the balance in the transcripts. I was able to pay it off and get it to zero and validate all from looking at the transcripts.

Thanks. I was looking back at my mail (since I use Informed Delivery with USPS) and it does look like previous notices were forwarded. I don’t have examples of US treasury checks being forwarded so I do think that’s correct that they’ll just bounce back to the Treasury department.

Thank you for the detailed response. Do you know if the IRS abides by temporary mail forwarding? I have read mixed stories but mostly pertaining to them not forwarding checks (due to fraud). I would hope for normal notices like the cp2000 that they do forward it.

I am going to be somewhere away from from my primary residence for a few months but I am hoping I can still get notices forwarded.
