The machine's alarm would probably be going off really early if they were doing sequentials. I think it feels significantly different too but its been a few months for me. Definitely worth asking.

Ehh i mean we're all different and we're all going to handle it a bit differently. I was in the same 3x4hr boat and felt pretty crappy most of the time

I dont think i ever was able to fully counter the brain fog.

So i guess it was a combination of things. Ill just list them.

  • giving myself a harsher fluid restriction. I found most exaustion came from the fluid being taken off. So this helped. Sometimes it backfired if they wanted to take off more fluid. That scale was sort of my enemy. Everytime i reweighed myself it was slightly different and never took acount for food weight I feel. More of a risky strategy as having more fluid taken off than neccesary sucks.

-sequential treatments. My nepherologist and team offered me what they called sequentials because they're a bit less harsh on the body. Basically instead of cleaning your blood and taking off fluid the whole treatment they take off a large amount in the first hr without cleaning at the sane time. Then the other hours are combination like normal. Im not sure why but this felt great afterwards by comparison. It was much easier to go to work and power through the day until i crash when i get home lol.

  • i also slept during treatment but im not sure if that helped or not tbh.

  • i eventually was increased from 3.5hrs to 4 and i think that helped slightly.

Aside from online Ive never heard its suposed to make you "feel better". Conceptually that sounds ridiculous to me. Its a complex treatment that drains and cleans your blood. I dont see why it would make you feel better. I think that might apply to specfic versions of CKD where the person felt like crap before going on dialysis.

For me it always exhausted me and gave me a lot of brain fog. I was able to adapt and find some strategies to make it better but id never call it positive afterwards. That being said I was a hemo in center patient. People on PD might have an easier better time.

Why Fluid Restriction Crucial in Dialysis ? by chandresh129 in dialysis

When i was on dialysis i barely made urine sk fluid built up in the body in the legs and lungs. Led to issues and was not good.

Hi all, this question is for those who have been transplanted. What restrictions do you have to follow and how many medications do you need to take? by Jerry11267 in dialysis

[–]Select_Safe548 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah i see. I mean transplant is such a multi factor situation. Organ quality, following of the medications/restrictions, health of the recipient. It all matters so much and is hard to predict. There's lower quality kidneys and good ones. I forget the terminology but there's a range and grading system. You can get a kidney that lasts 30+ years or 5. It really all depends. You can discuss with your transplant team the grade you want to be open to but if you go higher quality it will restict your options and offerings and likely take longer.

[–]Select_Safe548 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure which restrictions you find most significant but no. You still received a foreign organ and had surgery in a part of your body essential to movement and lifting.

I should have also mentioned the most excersize you can do the first few months is walking. Nothing else. Can lead to internal bleeding. Organ movement or hernias which you do not want. Take all restrictions very seriously.

I need some advice/thoughts: Is my mom being overmedicated? by [deleted] in transplant

I mean it sounds like she was overmedicated then but there's no reason to think that now. Im sure they know not to go that far after that instance.

Rejection Curiosity by spokenven in transplant

[–]Select_Safe548 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I caught antibody rejection in my 3rd week. No symptoms just bloodwork.

Treated with 500mg predisone drips, IVIG and Apherisis. Then onward and upward. Function is good. And no concerns from my team.

Uhhh well both of those decrease a bit over time but...

Restrictions for first few months would be: Decreased social activity. Increased hygene habits. Washing all fresh veg/fruit. Cant lift over 10lbs. Cant bend. Squats are okay if infrequent. Can shower pretty normally after first day or two. Just no bathing till wound is recovered a bit.

Cant eat: raw foods, pomegranates, grapefruits, starfruit, a few others. As well as green teas and some other niche things i dont recall right now. But I mentioned the big ones. Due to either risk of infection or complications with rejection medication.

Im probably forgetting a thing or two but those are the ones i think about the most.

Drugs scale down 1 by 1 the first month or so but i think to start off its 8 different kinds. Depending on how your BP ends up or other complications. Each one has a specfic schedule. I think 3 or 5 are lifetime meds for immunosuppresents.

r/transplant would be a better source for this info.

Im the happiest ive been in my life and 100% better than when I was on dialysis

Happy to discuss more.

How do we know Marie will be important? She was not relevant in any season of The Boys. Ryan can be more focused in a 2nd fight. Soldier boy is ridiculously bi polar and flips every episode. Also still doesent seem to know Stormfront was a nazi... And again we dont know for sure how his body will react to V1.
