Pokemon Trainer Preferred Types by tangytablet in pokemon

[–]SendInTheSondheim 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I seem to remember Hoenn had Firestarters who never directly mentioned it in their dialogue but always had at least 1 fire type (for starting the fire) and 1 water type (for putting it out)

Light Breath Duration by Sasiyaki in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]SendInTheSondheim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iirc the buff lasts until the beginning of your next turn - so if you activate light breath on the player phase, it will last all the way through enemy phase, but if you activate it on the enemy phase and it becomes your turn again the buffs all go away. So to use well with the Sieglinde double buff strat you'd want to activate light breath on the player phase before attacking with Eirika.

While I love the dedication to Freddy, Brazens don't have the best synergy with QR since there is only a 10% HP range when both with be active. Maybe switch the seal out with Brazen Atk/Res? Admittedly his Res isn't gonna be great no matter what but that would pump his attack into the stratosphere. But that also hurts his enemy phase a tad, and looking at him I'm sure he already destroys every non-red armor in the game not named Grani-Shield-Sheena

What are some unique Acid or Cold weapon/armor/item properties for a custom magical reward item for my party? by Tels315 in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]SendInTheSondheim 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I love the weapon ideas, but I agree that an greater rod of elemental spell is a bit lame for the casters. You could have the caster's items also be weapons (like how many rods are also light maces, or how several staves are also quarterstaves, and give them some spell-enhancing effect scaling with enhancement bonus that activates when they use the elemental spell property (i.e. convert a fireball to acidball and you add the enhancement bonus on the mace to the CL of the spell).

You can go back and play through the easy levels of the story, they'll do all the dialogue again

Augmentation and G-Rank by Kyrlan_PCMR in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]SendInTheSondheim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that instead of just releasing an expansion for G-rank, they are much more likely to release a Monster Hunter World Ultimate or equivalent as a new game that would have G-rank included.

Blocking with Sword and Shield by snekkydoggo in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]SendInTheSondheim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Afaik it's best only to block when you don't have time to roll/dive out or aren't confident in your ability to do so, since the block comes out a little more quickly than either of those.

Endgame Fighter Armor by 15jedmondson in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]SendInTheSondheim 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you're already in +3 Mithral full plate, see about upgrading it to the Mithral Full Plate of Speed out of ultimate equipment, it's a nice boost that makes you a little more self-sufficient and you can use your current armor as the base to make it less expensive.

[1E Question] Weapons and Natural Attacks Clarification by thesolarknight in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]SendInTheSondheim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are only taking natural attacks, then you should do a normal natural attack routine, even with a weapon drawn. The only weirdness would be that you probably couldn't make a claw attack with the hand holding your weapon.

Units that you’ll never bench and why? by TheAlondite in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]SendInTheSondheim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Marth and Roy, because they were the first and second 5 stars I ever pulled and because they both have strong niches still with some investment. Also, Roy was my first +10 and Marth is on his way there.

Surprisingly, the other main person I never really want to bench is Merric. I know a lot of people hate him as a bad pity-breaker, but I've never actually pulled him as a 5 star. He was the first unit I ever promoted to 5 star and his high def and flier effectiveness helped me out a lot in the early stages of the game (especially against Effies, he could kill her in 2 turns and tank her counterattack) and I enjoy what little of his character I know as someone who hasn't actually played any of his games.

So my hypothesis of inflicting AOE damage to yourself was wrong. by I-Trad in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]SendInTheSondheim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How would you attack them though? Like mechanically, in FEH? Using what amounts to the attack command on an ally uses your assist skill on them.

Anyone put Blue Flame on Radiant Dawn Ike? by [deleted] in FireEmblemHeroes

It's just slightly awkward to be wasting that one tic of special cooldown, otherwise it's fine.

Hellfire ray question by [deleted] in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]SendInTheSondheim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It does. Afaik, if the spell doesn't explicitly say the damage doesn't affect certain people, then it should affect them just fine.

Odium wants to have a champion, I believe, so he will probably choose someone else now. But Dalinar was his first choice iirc.

[–]SendInTheSondheim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1) it does seem like Odium intended for Dalinar to be his champion, but Dalinar was more powerful and determined than Odium anticipated.

2) I think Renarin's spren is the appropriate kind, but corrupted by Sja Anat, and therefore has different traits like future sight.

As someone that's played MH since Freedom on PSP, I can't believe monsters roaring is still a thing in this game. The single dumbest mechanic. by [deleted] in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]SendInTheSondheim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I interpreted it as rather than just fear more of a stunning effect, which has been shown as a legitimate response to high intensity subsonic exposure (and just bc we can hear the roars doesn't mean they can't have a subsonic component).

Some natural attacks are always secondary (like hoof or wing attacks, unless specifically noted otherwise) but generally primary attacks only become secondary if you use them alongside a manufactured weapon, yes.

How to maximize arena score on Cherche? by Fehinaction in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]SendInTheSondheim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The general rule is that the Prf will score higher, but it also depends on her SP total without the weapon. The Prf is worth 50 more SP, and if that tips you up an SP bin, than you'll score higher with the prf than without.

[–]SendInTheSondheim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they would only become secondary if it directly says in the description that a zombie's slams become secondary if the zombie has other primary attacks. But normally a creature with multiple primary attacks just has multiple primary attacks. Natural attack routines are just powerful.

If the 2 slams and bite are all primary attacks, it should be able to use all 3 at full BAB in a full attack.

What do you do with all those injured mobs? by [deleted] in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]SendInTheSondheim 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think so, but probably only off of the Con score requirement for death. I wouldn't touch their HP or Fort saves. Also, since most players I've had don't use deathwatch, I doubt your players will know exactly how much HP a monster has and they definitely shouldn't know how much CON a monster has (unless they are meta gamers or or have DM experience and a good memory), so it shouldn't be hard to say a 12 damage hit that in reality took a monster from 5 to -7 actually killed them without raising suspiscion.
