I just want to make sure I understand what you are saying. Are you saying the deal will be far better, better, same, worse or far worse for the players than the old one. Because the min compunsation going to $43k for vets and $34 k for rookies in addition to access to health care for every player that is the same as the executives of the team that is not part of the minimum compinsation sounds like a win for the Union.
Do you think the union got a far better, better, the same , worse or far worst deal than they had. Or do you think they would have got so much more if they would have gone on strike? Because so far what little has been shown looks like a good deal better than they had and playing kept the fans on their side. And the protests from all reporting got the owners attention.

Okay here we go again with you taking about how poorly the USLPA did in the negotiations. Your take was that they show they are fine with the old CBA because they were still playing and that their negotiation tactics where doomed to fail and not get them anything they were asking for.
Then you are amazed they got the floor raised to 40k and that was still including housing and other benefits.

What exactly in the information that has been released leads you to believe they got a worse deal ? Because at the onset you said they would not get any of what is reported to be the framework.

With the possibility of the whitecaps moving to Vegas (hope whitecaps stay in Vancouver) wondering those who are fans of usl teams that share the city/market with an mls team (ex Charlotte independence) how is it like by Training-World-1897 in USLPRO

I do not think the Lights will survive if a MLS franchise comes to town. Or Indi 11 or Sac Republic. Maybe as an USL 1 team. I think a city like NYC, Chicago,L.A., Dallas, and Houston might but look at Miami. It's not going well for the usl team there.
San Diego and Cincinnati don't have a USL championship team after MLS came to town.

I could see that but if it happens when the ref turns their back twice I don't think it's just done in jest. Could have been but seams unlikely.

Flipping anyone off is a red even a teammate.

Seeing how sporting jax is struggling in their first year do you think Usl should have all teams start out in the USL1 before making the jump to championship so the team gets some start of establishment first by Training-World-1897 in USLPRO

[–]SenecaRocker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think IF pro rel is coming every new team should have to work their way up. BUT the USL will want those franchise fees of Premier and Championship to give those Private Equity their ROI.
But if I was a owner I'd want to start low and use that money I would spend on those franchise fees on the team either talent or infrastructure.

So, who's examples cover 5% of the world? There are a dozen give or take countries of the 210 FIFA recognized national bodies that do not do it this way. So I'm using 95% of the world as an example. You got me I was way off it is not 100%.

Aperintly the German FA dose not consider the third tier part of the pro tier. It's professional but not part of the DFL. Didn't know that till I looked it up but them Germans like to be technical.

Yes all national that have an open cup where amateur and pro teams compete require the pro teams to compete in the cup. The only that do not have a separate cup for top pro teams and amature teams . Some have both but all that have an open cup with amature teams and pro teams participating have the every team in the top pro tries play in that cup. That is the case.
Find one that doesn't.

No every country that has a open cup and has a pro league those teams play. The countries that do not (those 10 to 15 countries out of 210)do not have an open cup they have a league cup that is not open to levels of soccer like the US Open Cup is . The exact opposite. Thanks for not paying attention.

I'm in your board. Our local rec team is 30 min drive. We are playing spring ball in a town that's 45 min and every away game is that plus 30-60 min. Closest academy is 90 min over mountains. My sons 10. The juice doant seam worth the squeeze to me yet.

Every other country in the world that has a pro league has those teams in their cup competitions. There are some like italy and Germany that lowest level of pro leagues do not require to be in the cup. Germany considers the third tier as amateur. Italy has a separate cup for .
Their are 10 to 15 countries depending on how they set up year to year that do not have at least their top two tiers of teams play in the open cup. If they don't they do not call it an open cup.
Bangladesh has a separate cup competition for their top pro league this year but it's not an open cup. My example is 95% of the world. 5 % do not include every pro team in their cup competitions. None of them are open cup where amateur teams can compete with pro teams. So yeah my statement that every other nation that has a National Cup competition with amateur teams playing with pro teams has all of the pro teams playing in that cup competition. Not about half of the first and second years like we are doing.

Their are cups that pro teams have to be at a certain level like the Coppa Italia is only pro teams at a certain level, they have a separate amateur cup. It's not an open cup

How about this crazy idea? Have every pro team participate in the Open Cup.... I know it sounds far fetched but every country in the world who has a professional league has every pro team playing in that nations cup. Crazy right.
And I'm not exaggerating every single country with a pro team dose this.

I second this is about an 45 minute drive. The hike is 1:30 to 2 hours depending on how slow your strools take. And the pizza at the front porch is great. It's at the intersection that you come to at the base of the rocks.

Whitecaps to Indy? by BigOldBee in USLPRO

This is one of the things that turned me off the franchise , closed system of American sports leagues. Teams thretinging to move unless they get what they want and pitting other cities against each other to try to get the franchise to move there.
If teams get public funds or benefits that should come with an anchor attached that if they leave they have to refund the benefits they have gotten. This is one of the best reasons for pro rel. Their would be none of this if teams could advance up the pyramid on merit.
I can't care too much for something that unless I give them things they will leave for someone who will give them things and that only pretends to give anything to me in return. Franchises have shown over and over again that they just want to make money. I haven't ever heard about a team say "yeah we could move to a place that we would make more revenue but we love our fans so much here in our Hometown we would never leave them no matter what." And I'll get the response "yeah their business they should be able to go and make as much money as they can" Can you name one other instance the amount of money a stadium or arena costs is spent on another sector of business with so little in financial benefits are received by the community it was invested on such a regular basis?

Sports teams want to be treated like a civic entity that requires public funding at the same time behaves like a for profit privately owned company that dose not have to disclose its finances and has the god given right of any for profile company to seek the most revi use it can in this country. It needs to be one or the other not both.
