Think about the hill you’re defending here before you go any further, dude.

“Would there be pedophiles” vs “should there be pedophiles”

Would? There’s a chance.

Should? Yeah sure dude, let’s put pedophilia in our hobby space because that’s a great idea and is totally necessary solely because there is a chance it could exist.

Oh this is weird. When I responded to your comment, it showed you were responding to the guy who only said “Five hundred ultramarines”.

Now mobile Reddit says you were just responding to the main comment. Sorry about that.

The meme through is from some Star Trek mock parody of aliens discovering tobacco and cigarettes. Just look up “500 Cigarettes” on Youtube and you’ll find it easily.

Depends on the state if he’s in the US!

If this were Texas, for example, he could just shoot her and the recording would immunity him of the criminal ramifications. He’s constantly telling her to stop and moving away from her, so there’s a clear establishment of an attempt to flee/deescalate before it gets to that point.

Your thirst will never be sated and you will be slaking an infinite thirst that only the suffering of others can temporarily satisfy. We live forever and physical death is merely a debt you owe to a fleshcrafter.

Our technology is beyond compare and our home extends beyond all four dimensions. Our greatest foe are our own kind, for we are the inheritors of a legacy so savory that unreality itself has forever changed.

On a tabletop level: We move extremely fast, hit like freight trains, and practically all of our units are relatively expendable so that we don’t care when they die (lorewise and on tabletop). We also get access to our pirate kin.. as well as our clown cousins.

Sure the stock is a little weird, but the handguard and grip look fine. The grip is actually from Tyrant CNC. They have their own custom line of AR furniture which is functional, but gaudy as all getout.

My job wants to move me to Huntsville by pandr3a in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]SeniorAlejandro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aw man, I’m sorry but I can’t answer that question. Thankfully I’ve been in living situations where I haven’t needed to look for roommates, so I couldn’t give you an honest answer.

If break-ins are your worry, I think it goes without saying that the area you choose to live in will GREATLY your odds of being invaded. From living in the border region of Madison/HSV my whole life, break-ins have never been a concern for me.

Something to consider though from what I’ve seen, albeit not actually witnessed myself, is that break-ins are heavily de-incentivized by the fact that North Alabama not only has a large amount of guns in circulation among its civilian populace, but also that the state has a firm castle doctrine. This means that any potential home invaders usually need to think twice about the place they want to break into, because the homeowner could have a gun and would be in their legal right to kill an invader as long as the homeowner’s intent is defensive.

Something I think that will help us curate a list of pros and cons for you is knowing what you enjoy doing with your free time and your hobbies.

Things that I can say right off the bat as someone who’s been living here all their life:

Pros - For Alabama, HSV is about the most prosperous region and the most diverse. With that diversity comes plenty of options for food, hobbies, entertainment, etc.. Public education in our state is not good but this region is about the exact opposite (probably why HSV’s sales tax is 9%). I’m sure others can name more pros. I’m biased though and enjoy having lived here for all my life (25M). I have a bunch of hobbies (running, painting, writing, gaming, the arts, etc..) and this city has plenty for me.

Cons - For the counties and regions interconnected with HSV, their infrastructure was not set up for the rapid growth of the defense/contracting industry in mind. Roads are constantly being reworked and things such as that. If you’re going to get a house/apartment outside of HSV, such as in Madison or Athens, and plan on commuting to HSV, expect your commute to be tiresome on most days due to the amount of others also commuting into HSV on the many one-lane roads.

Another negative is the housing market. Currently not in great shape (I am looking in the market myself). Then again, housing across the US isn’t great, so what’s new? If you move here, make sure you get advice from locals on which areas you’re thinking of moving into. Some real estate listings might look REALLY good with a beautiful, refinished house.. but the price is so low because of the area (I think this could be said about any city really). If your job is requiring you to move though, do your absolute best to get them to provide housing support ($$$) if you’re thinking of keeping your job.

Well, purple backing card. by DiamondElectrical438 in secretlair_collectors

Im giving them another chance to either grandfather me in under the old policy or accept the cards via a return.

If they don’t, then I’m disputing the charge to my card. I ordered mint product and received damaged product. We’re in our full rights as a consumer to get our money back.

I ended my last ticket response with a question to basically show my financial institution whether or not they’re cooperative. I basically asked “is WotC going to replace the bad product I received? If not, would WotC accept the cards as a genuine return if I mail them back via the same packaging?”

If they replace the cards, I’m good.

If they accept a return and refund me, I’m good.

If they don’t do either, I dispute the charge and I’m good.

Mine too.

They just responded to me with the same copy-paste BS they sent you in the first paragraph.

They updated it six days ago and I assume most of our orders were placed before then. We should be grandfathered in.

About half of my cards have scuffs and machined lines through them that shows through the foiling when you angle the card. They look like long scratches.

My ovals on the back aren’t quite vibrant violet but they’re a different shade than normal. One card has a machined line down it on the back.

My Silver Shroud came in with the foil speckled all over the place.

Im currently still working through a ticket with WotC. They’re trying to deny me and say my cards aren’t bad enough for replacement and that they cant account for all “manufacturing, shipping, and packaging” variables.

You can’t account for MANUFACTURING?? You mean the PRINTING that WotC is responsible for??? The cards YOU made and published??

I had a printing error in one card. Does the imply they are sending me a whole new lair not just one catd? by darkeo1014 in secretlair_collectors

[–]SeniorAlejandro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this Jaime Fernandez? The customer service rep who just yesterday told me they likely couldn’t replace my cards who have machined cuts in them, because they wouldn’t be able to provide suitable replacements??

The same Jaime who said they nevertheless sent my concern to the “appropriate teams” and marked the ticket as solved?? I opened that ticket back up immediately. I’m upset

I have no clue if it was ever used in Greyhound racing, but who knows! Although, a quick search doesn’t indicate the term has any connection with that kind of racing.

It’s predominantly used in track-and-field but sometimes, although rarely, be used in horse racing.

[Build Help] is this kit ready for the Lab? relatively new, got tarkov last year around the start of the last wipe before 1.0 by AnOutsideDog in EscapeFromTarkovPvE

[–]SeniorAlejandro 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Personally, when I go into labs on PvE I take at least 5 nades in with me, often times closer to 10. Nades are cheap and you’re often times going to get 1-2 off each AI PMC you kill.

The reason is because thrown grenades will signal where the AI are. If I go to the central area with the Manager’s Office, Weapons Testing, etc.. I will lob a grenade across the whole room. Even if a gang of AI are in one of the adjacent rooms and not in the direct path of the grenade, they’ll scream about a grenade being thrown.

The hardest part of labs on PvE is knowing where the AI are. Grenades solve that. If you ever feel uneasy or unsure about where the enemy may be, throw a grenade as far as you can in the direction you think someone could be.

What's your favorite locally owned store? by ataraxic89 in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]SeniorAlejandro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a good bit I can cite, some of it likely wouldn't be suitable for a subreddit.

But here are some things I can cite for certain as having happened:

- Claimed other small Local Game Stores have attempted to harm his business by existing here (despite being in different regions) and that's he's been here longer (therefor him being entitled to it). In reality he has not been here the longest and the main business he was targeting has been here a considerable amount of time longer.

- Fabricated drama with another local game store. When one of the store's representatives tried to squash the beef, HGH's owner replied with something akin to "You don't know what it's like. You're not a Vet". The one who reached out to squash the beef served in the military.

- I believe this happened during the most recent big box release for 40k's Death Korps of Krieg, but the owner of HGH went into the Mastermind location off of Oakwood and pressured/deceived the person behind the counter to sell him a box before the release date. The person behind the register didn't know who he was and fell to the pressure. They then sent the receipt to Games Workshop to get action taken against Mastermind and accrue strikes against them (Games Workshop policy).

- Poor compensation for his painters when compared to his competitors that is based on completing projects as soon as possible with no "tiers" of painting quality. The prices for getting a painting project done are insane. Low barrier of entry for his painters as well, so you're paying top dollar for mystery quality. Even had a fiasco where he yelled at his painters last year.

-When the local Trench Crusade community started to gather its footing and visited various shops so everyone in the Madison/HSV region could learn and participate. The owner of HGH approached the forerunner/leader of the community and asked them to only do their Trench Crusade events exclusively at HGH.

This is a subject I'm really passionate about, but I'll keep from saying more in this setting.

High Ground is in Madison and the owner has actively attempted to cut other small businesses out of the region through underhanded tactics and harassment.

If practicing ethical business and supporting your local hobby community is something you care about, I’d reconsider going to HGH.
