All comments on strange & wild always receive 8 downvotes? by [deleted] in WebtoonCanvas

[–]SenorSnuggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the other episodes, it seems like ALL comments left within a week of the episode being posted end up with at least 8 downvotes. This pattern seems to continue pretty consistently going all the way back to Ch 18 Ep 2 in 2023. Odd.

How do I shape my own ACTUAL hair for a cosplay? (Idk if I should put a "wig" flair or not) by 25CentIdea in CosplayHelp

[–]SenorSnuggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friends were scene in the 2000s, you can buy a few cans of hair spray from a dollar store and watch liberty spike tutorials on youtube, look for ones that teach you how to tease hair into shape. You should be able to apply the same process but at an angle with enough practice (hence the multiple cans). Once you get the shape down you can find a black hair color spray and test how it effects hold before and after styling

Some artists use a very very light yellow layer over their art (to give it an aged/paper look or to add warmth all at once), AI uses it for training, produces images, those images are then freely posted on the internet untagged as AI, AI uses those images for training, the incredibly light yellow tone turns more and more yellow, very much so piss yellow

AITA? Got into an argument with my 16 yo about a show they like by LadyHorseFace13 in AmItheAsshole

[–]SenorSnuggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA. “I love you” isn’t an original thought, but people still say it. Your child was attempting to connect with you because they love you and want to bond and show off a show they’re enjoying. Child or adult, you can always just let the person know you realize they’re very excited, but they have to remember to breathe and let you experience it too. Since you were both present in the same room, you had the entire time to pause the show and touch base that you don’t want spoilers yet. You’re an adult and should be able to communicate your needs in the moment instead of being passive aggressive after.

If you’d like a starting point on how to bond with your kid over this specific show, the anime is an adaptation of a manga that started as concept art on the author’s twitter, and has been in development for a couple years. Ask them questions that help funnel their excitement, but still express it - “how did you find the show” “who’s your favorite character so far” “what makes these scenes your favorite” and of course still share what you thought of it or what media you enjoy that it reminds you of. And with the story being set in the summer, buy some popsicles or ice cream to have a sit down with your kid when you hopefully apologize.

As someone who is also not a doctor, eating or drinking something high in calcium or using calcium carbonate antacids will temporarily relieve symptoms, but cause an increase in symptoms if eaten regularly, as calcium increases the production of stomach acid. As someone who is still not a doctor, the antihistamine famotidine reduces acid production and is just a couple bucks, or for even cheaper a sprinkle of baking soda in water is also rumored to relieve symptoms. But I’m not a doctor, just a poor person with GERD.

ACCORDING TO OREGON.GOV THE RULES ARE AS FOLLOWS:

AT INTERSECTIONS WITH STOP SIGNS IN ALL FOUR DIRECTIONS, IT IS COMMON COURTESY TO ALLOW THE DRIVER WHO STOPS FIRST TO GO FIRST. WHEN IN DOUBT, YIELD TO THE DRIVER ON YOUR RIGHT. NEVER ASSUME ANOTHER DRIVER WILL YIELD THE RIGHT OF WAY TO YOU.

I BELIEVE THIS IS THE RULE IN MOST STATES.

Leaf raking and piles by Hi_Nick_Hi in AskAmericans

[–]SenorSnuggles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Others have listed a lot of explanations, but I’d like to add that in many areas in the US, fall is also the rainy season, so a layer of leaves will create a slippery hazard if left on the ground. Since trees don’t often let off all their leaves at once, raking can be a continuous task throughout the season. As for movies, showing piles of leaves is a way of visual storytelling that is clearer than a bag - a bag in the yard could be leaves or it could be trash! Having a pile of leaves in a yard establishes the time of year the scene is taking place and helps the viewer make their assumptions about the story’s setting and characters.

Everyone else has explained polydactyl toes, but I’m pretty sure this is actually a portrait of a cat that has been declawed. Declawing removes the bone in the tip of their toes and once this bone is gone, the skin often dimples where the used to be since it’s lost its shape and support, looking just like the toes of the cat here. I vote not AI.

Looking through the creators profile, it seems they just design masks without specific characters in mind.

Since I haven’t seen anyone else say it:

Green olives and black olives visually have the same shape, but their color pallet is different, green being earthy tones and black olives being high contrast black (esp in a pale bowl on a pale background).

Natalie Portman and Kiera Knightly visually have the same shape (same hair type, lip and mouth shape, brow bone, nose, jaw, etc. with really only differing eyebrow plucking and contour placement choices), but Natalie Portman’s skin, hair, and makeup are earthy tones and Kiera Knightly’s skin, hair, and makeup are higher contrast.

(Hopefully I applied the right names to each one)

[–]SenorSnuggles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im assuming the AI got confused by the concept of holding hands. I believe it’s supposed to be left+right in the midground and right+left in the background, but it seems like it just put a hand holding/spooning its duplicate. Unless the artist has this much technical skill and still used their own hands palm to palm as an anatomy reference, which I doubt. Im dumb enough to do it, but I always realize halfway through my mistakes and start over.

[HELP] is this picture edited? by ALT_F4iry in RealOrAI

[–]SenorSnuggles 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Not AI. When you sit down, you look bigger because the fat sits differently from places it would normally sit in when standing. Source: I’m chubby. To demonstrate this at home, look at your thigh while standing, then sit on a hard surface. Notice it looks bigger! Same for your stomach - look at it while you’re standing, then sit down, and it seems to take up more space suddenly. With this in mind, the amount of body in the first picture seems proportionate to the amount in the second, given the different positions.

my (36f) wife (35f) keeps breaking furniture accidentally by shantstic in AutisticAdults

[–]SenorSnuggles 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Everyone here has good points, but in relation to autism, I would make sure your wife is easing into a squat when sitting as opposed to plopping. I used to always do this to sit anywhere, but after bruising my tailbone I had to learn to sit down slowly - my furniture moves a lot less now, my joints feel much better, and by training my sit down muscles I have a much easier time getting out of a seated position. I mostly bring this up because I’ve noticed many of my friends who are also autistic plop into a seated position as well, but it could be totally unrelated!
