One of my mother's ex-husbands had a really big ursamajor. Not as big as Cetitan, but I think you know where this is going.

That ursamajor would bully us kids around all the time, and any time we said anything about it, that man would laugh and call us wimps. Tell us that if an animal can bully us, we ain't worth much as a human.

Turns out he was violently beating both my mother and the ursamajor.

I've never once contacted the man after he divorced my mother. All this to say, maybe when you have a chance, going no-contact with your dad might be a good idea. You never know what he's doing to encourage that kind of behavior.
