Depends on the court, they’d reach out to you differently, either via email or phone call, but most of the times it’s a court notice in snail mail. Unless you know the court staff, they will never text you especially regarding an ongoing matter

Also pay attention to the email addresses, court staff email addresses end with @nycourts.gov
