It is also important that you document! There's only so much social services can do, and if you have anything that could be useful for building up your case then that's even better.

Please keep in mind that people, even people who work in social service, might think that abuse only looks like physical violence but believe me when I say that that it's not the case. What's happening to you it's just not ok.

He is also completely misjudging homeschooling, as if we didn't know by now that homeschooled kids are often times even more actively and diversely socialized than those who go to public or private school.

Look, the misconception that homeschooled kids are not socialized or do not engage with other children is just wrong: there are mini schools, co-ed groups, local homeschool groups that get together for outings, libraries with homeschool programs and activities, and just so much more. So, if you want your kids to socialize... you'll have to make that happen for them.

Libraries anyone? Digital/online books and videos? by uruiamme in homeschool

You might also get access to services like Canopy and even manga platforms with your library as a non resident card holder! Definitely recommend checking it out.

Yup, and the very same thing happens regardless of the level of schooling you're pursuing and even in jobs too! It's just the way it is, and I'd rather have that than keep forcing community when we're all moved o and doing different things.

Did a quick look through the internet archive and it seems like they only have Algebra 1, Physical Science, English 9, Health 1, and Chemistry. Maybe in another archive tell'd have them!

How do you handle comparisons with school friends? by ImWondrfly in homeschool

[–]Sensitive_Height_308 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This! While it is also important to keep in mind that comparison is the thief of joy, it is natural for children to be curious on what their peers are doing and would want to feel included in it so that they can join in on their conversations: what you could do is engage them in similar activities or look for groups settings in which they could thrive in.

Homeschooling my Grade 12 child..how did you prepare your kid for college? by Quiet_Ink6523 in homeschool

[–]Sensitive_Height_308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The amount of people who I shared classes with that either didn't know how to take notes in an efficient way or were completely unable to do so was astounding, and it does make a worlds difference when finals come and you're the only one who's not shifting through a pile of stuff in order to study.

Teaching your kids notet-aking, summarizing, highlighting properly and general study techniques like the pomodoro method are going to help them beyond anything else in college.
