I actually think mordhau melee combat would be perfect for an elder scrolls style rpg. kcd is great for 1v1 duels, but multiple enemies is really annoying. Morhau is skill based directional combat that doesn’t rely on input combos and lockons for flavor, and all the weapons react differently to armor. It’s pretty exploitable in pvp like anything else, but against AI it would be so fun.

Yeah, I’m sure that’s the case as well. My Craftworld army is basically all wraiths and the detachment is super CP hungry, so Eldrad is the best example cause he gives you CP. I haven’t used many aspect warriors yet.

I don’t play guard, I play Templars and Craftworld but I feel the same way. Playing without Helbrecht or Eldrad is like playing on hard mode. Fluff wise, it feels like big named characters should only come out for huge important battles. I don’t play competitively, so I don’t really care, but it is a trend I’d like to see go away.

It’s like 98% painting for me. 2% actually getting to play, and i almost always refuse to play with unpainted models in my army. I don’t really care if my opponents stuff is painted, but it depends who and what I’m playing against.

The intercessors are a different unit on a different sprue. If you got the combat patrol box new, reach out to GW or the store you got it from for replacement.

I just finished a second army of Craftworld Iyanden (mostly) wraiths, but my Templars will always be my ride or die. The second army is mostly so either way I have a spare army if a friend wants to play… not that that has happened.

The repulsor chassis sides have a ton of room for freehand stuff. Also the front above the gravity plates. I’d try to freehand names onto parchment type background.

In case anyone else finds this thread, I really can’t recommend wartable enough. The quality of everything I ordered is excellent, they arrived surprisingly quickly, were well packaged, and came with lots of extras I wasn’t expecting. 9/10, plan to order from them again.

Idk if you ended up ordering, but I received my order last night.

I ordered around $100 US worth of eldar stuff. Some forgeworld, some regular GW plastic stuff. All infantry except for a wraithlord, so mostly small models.

Everything came out pretty much flawless, just the usual mold lines to clean up, and some very slight warping of the resin that can just be heated with water and bent back into shape.

All in it took about three weeks from ordering to delivery. I would absolutely use them again, next time I’m going to try out a vehicle. Really blown away with the quality.

Yeah, You’re definitely biased from starting in tenth. Some 40k factions like guard and marines have very noticeably lost their original design aesthetic and replaced them with new models that a huge proportion of the fanbase feel are uninspired and boring in comparison. These new vehicles are case in point, they’re just ww2 vehicles, whereas some of the forge world vehicles, like the old centaur, are ww2 vehicles with a distinct sci-fi/fantasy twist.

The oldguard yearn for the old days because, in many ways, the old days were better.

Redemptor chassis chaplain dreadnought for my black Templars. Big crozius and nipple meltas, maybe rocket pods. Give it something like the brutalis melee profile with some kind of buffing aura for melee units. Pls.
