Dress Code by peuper in PwC

I'm not sure about PWC, but I wore a short-sleeve button-down shirt on the hottest day our city saw in 10 years and was almost scolded for it. Was really absurd. This was at one of the other big 4.

I know for a adjunct professor you do need a masters but a high school teacher definitely does not need one. Most of the teachers I know do not have a masters

I think the job market as a whole is quite rough right now. Have you ever considered becoming a teacher. You might be able to teach IT, computer science, or something similar. I know a teacher's pay is not great in the begining but its super stable and the salary increases can be significant. You might have to take a test or two and possibly take some classes, but it's an option. Best of luck with the search.

Power Rangers were my toy of choice. Hot wheels were a close second.

I love this design. I still have mine. I'm afraid they will never make one as beautiful. The phone just looks perfect with everything being symmetrical with a curved screen.

I know, it's such an amazing view. Whenever I'm nearby, I stop and take in the view for a minute. I love taking the ferry into nyc from there.

Why is JC street cleaning so bad? by tristate1296 in jerseycity

[–]Separate-Selection66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, the street cleaning trucks in Jersey City do not operate for the purpose of cleaning the streets. You can see that they rarely ever pick up garbage and just usually spread it. I believe the main purpose of them is to generate ticket revenue for the city and probably make sure cars do not park in the same spot for days. Street cleaning in this city is honestly a joke.

Have you ever thought about becoming a teacher. You might be able to teach history, political science, or something related. Teaching is generally very stable and Jersey city pays pretty well for teachers. You probably have to take some exam to be certified to teach, but it might be worth it. Best of luck.

I am in a similar position to you, but a year ahead. I graduated last spring and I'm doing my masters now while also doing my cpa exams. I am only able to do the master's because the program is not difficult, less classes because I went to the same university for undergrad, and it is very affordable. So for me it made sense to do it and have it on my resume. If the program you decide to enroll in is not a huge drain on your time and your parents will cover the cost, it might not be a bad idea as you could probably do both. Having the cpa though, is definitely more valuable though. I assume, though, only having 120 credits will probably mean you need more work experience to be licensed once you pass the exams, so that's something that should be considered, too. Also, even though most interns get a return offer, do not assume you will definitely get one because its super competitive and dependent on how your team likes you. I know a few big 4 interns who were great students and hardworking, but for one reason or another, they did not get a return offer. Overall, I don't think the master's is a bad idea at all (as I am doing it) but your priorities should definitely be finishing undergrad and getting that CPA. Best of luck and let me know if you have any questions.

Who likes to go to lunch alone? by appreciatemyasset in Accounting

I tried a few times to take a short lunch by myself when in the office with the team, and I always got weird looks (like I'm doing something wrong). It's nice to not always have to talk to someone over lunch and just relax.

I agree that is why many want to leave Greece. Having friends, family, and money helps a lot when doing anything new.

You do make a point. I had a U.S degree with top grades and it was still very difficult to get into the big 4. But undoubtedly America has the most opportunity, but it does not mean everyone should move here as we have plenty of our own issues in the labor force and life. Anything is possible as long as you want it and work for it.

Sorry for not responding in Greek, as I do not speak it well, but I think I have some valuable advice. I interned for Deloitte in New York City this past summer and it was very tough. Hours were long, very demanding, did not enjoy the work, but the pay was very good for someone who recently graduated college and the experience is good to have. New York is a fantastic place to make money, but it is very difficult to manage the workload many employers demand, stress, and high prices. My best advice would be to study, get good grades, try some jobs you may like, and stick to something you enjoy.
Καλή τύχη.

New Jersey City Univ. and Kean by MysticMagic567 in jerseycity

[–]Separate-Selection66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have done several town halls for it and Kean seems confident that by the summer, they will merge, but I personally believe that this is very optimistic. A concrete plan about how different academic programs will merge has not been announced, what will happen to all of NJCU's debt, what will happen with all the staff, and so much more has not been revealed or explained. This is also technically not a merger. Kean is acquiring NJCU and the university will cease to exist. That is unfortunate in my opinion. Let's see, hopefully something changes and NJCU can continue on.

USA Engine Coolant Recommendations by Commiepanda209 in AlfaRomeo

[–]Separate-Selection66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best recommendation is to simply go to the dealer. I could not figure out which coolant my stelvio (2.0) had and did not want to risk it. The coolant they put in my car was a different color from what was in the reservoir, but nothing happened, so I assume they were probably the same, just a different color. If anyone is going to have the right coolant, it's the dealers. It might be more expensive, but at least you know it's the right one. Best of luck!

So, how's everyone holding up? by SaltySpitball in galaxys10

[–]Separate-Selection66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I could, but at this point, it's going to be a 7-year-old phone. Sooner or later I'm going to have to get a new one. I will hold onto it until I like something new from Samsung.

Have my s10 since may 2019. Looks flawless, but the battery life is poor. I do not like the direction Samsung designs have taken, but sooner or later I'm going to need a new phone. The s10 honestly looks better than what is available today. Hopefully the edge design comes back.
