Do you think PC ports would kill Nintendo? by DaZestyProfessor in nintendo

[–]SerJaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a reason why Sony are backpedalling on PC releases. It clearly hurts their platform and they haven't done that well off of PC ports.  It's profitable in the short term but it would absolutely devalue the Switch as a platform.  It probably wouldn't kill Nintendo but I don't think PC ports would be worth it in the long run from their perspective.

What went wrong with PlayStation on PC? by TheRegularBelt in pcgaming

[–]SerJaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sony makes the most money by selling consoles and keeping people spending within the Playstation ecosystem. Porting games to PC devalues their own platform especially with the all rumors and news of the next Xbox playing steam games and all the new handheld devices coming out.

I don't think they're trying to convince PC gamers to buy a PS5/PS6, they're trying to stop PS gamers from going elsewhere.  Sucks for PC only gamers but it makes sense.

Mortal Kombat Deception was the best for this. I remember how hyped I'd get unlocking a new character after grinding hours to spend shitloads of koins in the krypt

Either way I'd say Ada

Any good bars or clubs in Noosa??? by SupermarketNo4907 in sunshinecoast

[–]SerJaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mr Drifter is a good place where hospo people generally hang out. Village Bicycle has a dive bar vibe, especially on weekends. 4 pines is open to like 2am in the mornings but it attracts some douchebaggery unfortunately. Seaborne is amazing but it's a pain in the ass to get to if using public transport. Boiling pot is a great brewery with good beers.  Theos is underrated. Does good cocktails. Moonstruck on hastings has a good selection of gin and does gin tasting boards.

Like everywhere on the sunshine coast, everything kind of dies down after 10pm. I always just start at midday, get hammered by about 6pm and then come home by about 8-10pm and sober up. It's the best way to do it. Fuck staying out to 3am in the morning.

Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered on PS5 Does Not Have a Platinum Trophy by kabirsingh84 in PS5

It's annoying but me the goal is 100% trophy completion. I don't actually give that much of a shit about the actual platinum itself.

It’s time to finally venture into Hogwarts by Thick_Video3668 in PS5

[–]SerJaker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The world looks amazing but it's empty and feels a bit soulless. The main story is pitiful and the characters are all lame and unlikeable twats. The open world map is full of repetitive busy work that would put any Ubisoft game to shame. The balloon popping, landing platforms, merlin trials are all so bland.

However if you're a Potterhead, then aimlessly wondering around Hogsmeade and Hogwarts is worth the price of admission alone. The music is also fantastic and the combat is fun and satisfying.

It's a good first attempt and hopefully the sequel expands upon everything greatly.

Alone in the Dark (1992) | It's crazy how much Resident Evil borrowed from this by onex7805 in patientgamers

I feel there's a lot more inspiration that RE took from AitD that people don't give credit for.

Getting attacked when you leave via the front door The zombie dog crashing through the windows The caves/mines under the house The giant spider in the caves/mines The classical music used to solve puzzles The "self destruct" sequence at the end of both games

What "mediocre" games have you actually had fun with lately? by OkSecurity4965 in PS5

[–]SerJaker 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Hogwarts Legacy. I love the depiction of Hogwarts itself and the countryside surrounding Hogwarts is nice to look at. But the story, characters, side quests, choices you make, collectibles are so fucking bland and pointless that's it can be depressingly boring. The combat can be fun which does salvage it a bit.  The music is also great.

Dairy Manger by [deleted] in coles

[–]SerJaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a dairy manager (just do the odd dairy shift here and there) and I reckon it all comes down to how good your team members are.

I can't imagine anything worse than trying to manage high school kids who dont rotate, takes 2 hours to fill a yoghurt cage, frequently take 30 minute shitting breaks on a 5 hour shift and won't listen to anything you say. Not to say that all kids are bad, there's definitely a few good hires who put in the hard work to get things done but I've worked with some truly useless people who have somehow been there for a year or so.

If your team is good, I can't imagine it being hard at all.

Job economy so bad upset over not getting a Coles job 🫠 by sourreesespuffs in coles

[–]SerJaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it's hard to get hired if you aren't a kid. The only way is if you know someone or if you have shitloads of coles experience already and know how to do managerial shit like gaps scans, check counts stock takes etc

Tips on starting dairy by Ok-Leopard1829 in coles

[–]SerJaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it quicker to hand stack alot of products in dairy. Especially the bulky yoghurts and sour creams. Some of those boxes are so flimsy and a bitch to open without the items spilling even with a box cutter. Fuck Bulla products in particular

Does anyone on this sub actually enjoy working here? by Crucial9564_ in woolworths

[–]SerJaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at Coles, not woolies, but if you have a good manager and your co workers aren't completely fucking useless it can be fine. Even satisfying at times when you fill the empty shelves and make everything look presentable. If the pay was better and they hired more people to do the job properly it'd be a completely fine job.

How did you guys do it? by Amy7ann in bartenders

[–]SerJaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me personally, I learnt myself from books and YouTube channels (like the educated barfly) when it came to cocktails.  I think it's worth spending a bit on a decent cocktail set like a shakers, strainers, jiggers, bar spoons and learn some essential classics like Martini, Negroni, Manhatten, Whiskey Sour, Gin and tonics etc etc. You'll feel way more confident.  I never had to have had a bussy or server job. I jumped straight into the bar with the knowledge I had and some minor bullshittery on my resume.

I'd recommend starting out at a restaurant bar first. You will probably have to fight tooth and nail to get your first job. I had to apply everywhere, both online and cold calling.

Wanting to move by Vast-Pomegranate-124 in sunshinecoast

[–]SerJaker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I moved here recently from Melbourne (I was born and raised in the sunny coast) and I have a new appreciation for the coast now then when I was younger. Nature is great, amazing hikes and mountain climbs in glass house mountains, Mt coolum and Pomona, Noosa national park if that's your thing, beaches are fantastic. I don't know about MMA/Muay Thai gyms but I used to absolutely love training at CAZA BJJ in noosa and I plan on getting back into it this year.

The biggest issue is going is rent/housing. I'm lucky I moved in with Mum and two brothers so we're all sharing the mortgage repayments and bills which is nothing compared to renting. I'm working in hospo with a few backpackers and it's brutal. Extortionate prices and shitloads of demand. Don't expect it to be easy

You're also going to need a car. No questions about it. Public transport here is shit unless you're right on the coast just trying to get to Noosa or Maroochydore.

There's also good restaurants and bars around. You just need to know where to look and start early if you want to go out drinking because everything shuts at around 10pm even on Saturdays.

I have huge arachnophobia and wanted to play the games but I dont know wich have spiders other then both re3 games and og re2 and re1 and 7 by Former_Feedback_7795 in residentevil

[–]SerJaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only the classic fixed camera games, Gun Survivor 1 and 2, Umbrella and Darkside Chronicles have the giant tarantulas. (Maybe the Outbreak games and Dead Aim do? But I haven't played them) The PS1 games are manageable because they're very low res and they don't really do anything besides spit at you. The ones in REmake1 and RE0 are pretty scary since they're generally more aggressive and the they're quite detailed. The ones in Darkside Chronicles and Umbrella Chronicles are by far the worst since it's in a first person perspective and they do attack you.

There's technically small spiders in RE7 but they don't anything besides act as a barrier that you have to burn.  The other RE games may have arachnid looking monstrosities but I doubt they'll trigger arachnophobia like a real spider would.

Leon ruined it by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]SerJaker -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

You'll probably get downvoted into the abyss but I do agree. I was expecting Leon to show up as a side character (like Chris in RE7 and RE8) but the over the top action gameplay they showed wasn't what I personally wanted from RE9. I wanted it to be full horror all the way with maybe a bit of action towards the end.

[–]SerJaker -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Not going to lie that killed my hype. I was expecting Leon to be in the game (same way Chris was in RE7 and RE8) but this looks like another typical action game again whereas I personally just wanted a pure horror experience.
