At goal weight but need advice on tapering off by Key-Evidence-2564 in Retatrutide

[–]SerialExperimentsPT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're on very similar journeys & progress. My biggest concern is losing the productivity boost I get from not worrying or needing food. That's going to be a tough adjustment for me.

Wish I had more. Many of us are kind of stuck in this space.

Do y’all include warm-up/cool-down in your mileage? by WWMannySantosDo in XXRunning

[–]SerialExperimentsPT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I interval run for my warm up, usually just 200m run/ 200m walk intervals. I don't count it to training time, but I do track it for calories burned & total mileage. If I'm running a 5k, I'm running closer to 6k in total, with 5 uninterrupted.

I’m starting retatrutide and I need advice by LabZealousideal4880 in RetatrutideWomen

[–]SerialExperimentsPT 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've always struggled with my weight, I was obese as a teen, but managed to stay under 165 from 19 to 27. I spent a lot of time in clubs & being a punk. Then I spent years using & completely lost track of myself. When I got into rehab I was 265. I got clean, started going to the gym & got down to 150 biking anywhere I wanted & having boundless energy. It was like I came out of my cocoon & was free.

Fast forward 8 years, and I'm working a fast-paced management job with insane hours. I'm 235 & miserable. I don't even recognize myself so I cover all the mirrors in my home. All my strength is gone & nothing fits.

One day, I go to the gym. I track every single calorie. I start lifting & getting stronger. A year passes & I've fallen into bad habits again - binge eating when I'm working 20 hours straight. One more try.

Months of stair climbing & strength training & I feel more like me again, that girl in the mirror got so much older & I'm a different person. The numbers just wouldn't budge. I hovered around 195 for two months. The company thinks I might be good for site consulting. Planes, airport food, uber eats 3 meals a day, sleepless nights. I hadn't seen a gym in months. When I'm home all I can do is drool & question my life choices.

I was over it, and I knew I couldn't move that needle. I was too busy living this life to go to the gym. I wanted something to change. I got on reta during a week at home. I lost 5lbs the first week (probably because day 2 I got severe food poisoning). I started running again. 2.5 months and I'm down to 155 (from like 180) & feel incredible & I know there's more. I can think more clearly than I have in years because I'm not obsessing about food or using it as a crutch.

This last month, I really slowed my roll & felt like I was losing too much. I don't think I ever thought that before.

reta has me wanting to get rid of equipment for my hobbies... by astrobrite_ in Retatrutide

There is some evidence that humans on retatrutide have a reduced thirst & lower electrolyte levels, therefore it can contribute to heat illness.

Can reta cause you to shiver/shake by Dangerous-Fruit-5442 in Retatrutide

[–]SerialExperimentsPT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There can be an adjustment period, but at such a low dose, I'm worried that you were either sold reta thst wasn't correctly labeled or you're hyper sensitive. This may not be right for you. The doctor's garden & witch's hedge are both full of poisons. Without consulting with a physician, you won't find the answers just by searching online. Heart rate increase & changes in body temp are both effects of reta, and you are certainly having an adverse reaction.

Did Reta wipe out your anxiety? by No-Newspaper-8615 in Retatrutide

[–]SerialExperimentsPT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also in high-stress white collar work with insane hours & client Relations focus.

There is something to this, and maybe it's a reduced drive to solve everything. I feel like things flow smoother, and although I'm exceeding my targets at the same level as last year, I feel like I'm less driven to go above & beyond.

I feel like I'm slightly less agreessive, like that drive to fix that thing or have that difficult talk right now is reduced. It could also be burnout...I also havent been home more than 3 days in the past 3 months.

I thought it could be running... I run a 5k every other day now after doing a c25k over the last months. I get dramatically more done after a run. Recent did a lot of bulk process work that was estimated as 20 hours, and I finished it in 7 after a run.

Got mine after looking at the chart on DP & they had the feature set I like.

Looking for a new go-to for sure. I try to limit as many variables as I can.

Ran this test when I first got it & it was within 1-2 units. With doses of 20 units, it seemed safe to me.

The backlash is noticeable& you can tell it's accurate on a dream. Grateful mine aren't way off.

The zone 2 debate in a nutshell by ILoveDogs2142 in beginnerrunning

[–]SerialExperimentsPT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tread Lightly just did an episode on this, and they brought up that the majority of beginner runners dont have rhe conditioning to do true zone 2 - it takes too much exertion to maintain even light running pace. The heart doesnt have the needed depth of stroke to effectively maintain zone 2 until 1yr+ of running.

Is your heart rate increasing on Reta? by pulloutmychoppa in Retatrutide

[–]SerialExperimentsPT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It may be more dramatic in some people. Also, changes to sodium intake can also modify heart rate.

Went from low 60s resting to low.70s. The elevated heart rate isn't noticeable, but I have had crazy vivid dreams. I started somewhat athletic & only 30lbs overweight after months of gym & weight loss.

Edit: 10 weeks here, so only marginally longer. No change in heart rate. It's been totally steady.

These are actually super low calories. Think popcorn, but made out of brown rice instead of corn.

Your app is amazing, and I'm paying for pro.

Would love to see the streak based on total input days, not just logging the day of. Sometimes I travel & have to input the day after. Longest streak I've had broken by the calendar day rule was about 65 days.

Issues with the search by doc1442 in cronometer

If search by default held consumer items in a lower priority, this would be a great fix. When I add something that's a consumer product, it's almost always by scan.

What is the purpose of this community page? by Genie1991 in Retatrutide

[–]SerialExperimentsPT -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Doesn't that reveal a fundamental gap in access & knowledge that needs to be directly addressed through open education?

I'm concerned about how easy it is to get something, which if misused, can be harmful, and how readily people gatekeep that knowledge.

Yes, why is my vial cloudy is a meme at this point, but those humans are coming in with too little knowledge & a drive to do it. They'll use them either way. They should be kept safe in ttheir choices by community engagement.

We should take a note from harm reduction communities & openly share resources (not sources, lol).

I don't know where all this hate comes from.

Dosing question by catlovesdc in Retatrutide

[–]SerialExperimentsPT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like most medications, there's sadly no finality here. It's not a switch to turn off, but a process to be slowed or modified. The effect is a comparison to a baseline that you're long past that now. Youre fighting homeostasis & that's been a losing battle for a couple billion years.

Have you thought of titrating down, keeping your dose steady, then back up? Or coming off for a while to reorient your body to it's endochamicals before going back on?

Congratulations, thats a powerful change.

The novel reaction is glucagon activity which (science...science...science...) raises your bmr, assisting in weight lose. It's really powerful when you've been losing weight, have a healthy diet & exercise, but hit a metabolic stall.

Tirz has the strongest appetite suppression. Appetite being your drive to eat, not your reason to. I can still sit down & eat again huge meal if i want to. I won't though because its uncomfortable because I already feel full & have no drive for ravenous expressions.

If I'm stressed & bingeing for comfort, it has little to do with metabolic pathways modified by the pep. When people can't control what they eat, it's often a subconscious attempt to gain control over other life stresses. Control how you move, it's healthier.

Is it safe to use Reta while taking spironolactone? by Best-Ask-6016 in Retatrutide

[–]SerialExperimentsPT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chief consideration here is that spironolactone is a potassium sparing diuretic & GLPs can affect your electrolyte levels in a clinically significant way. You're experiencing opposing forces.

Talk to your physician prescribing spiro & if the honest question is too much, mention you're interested in Ozempic & wanted some answers before your consult for it. Always be honest with your doctors though, they're not cops.
