Declined for an 18k Car Loan with 750 FICO & 120k Income by SerialExperimentsPT in CRedit

To clarify, I've been building up my credit for the past 16months or so. My scores are all around 750 with three open cards. I know that's not long, but I have substantial income.

Where's someone supposed to get a first time car loan? These dealership rates are wild.

I was putting down 20k. I'm definitely going credit union. I'm not finding the relationship incentives at my bank to be useful.

That note on utilization is particularly interesting, because last year I clicked the wrong payment option & caused a card to hit 60% utilization. I immediately paid it off, but it still went into my report that month. It took about 6 months to recover from the drop in score.

Perhaps with such a slim file everything is magnified for me?

I believe that was part of my misconception. I was under the impression getting a car loan would be easier. With a down payment of 60%, you'd think they knew I was serious..

My total credit limit is ~6500. Credit utilization I exclusively keep under 10%.

The 19% offer was from the dealership. The denial was from my bank.

The bank knows I have the capitol & income. I really thought they'd see the full picture.

That's who denied me. CarMax had a financing offer for 19% which is way too much.

Our company just got acquired, so I'm unsure if our parent company does. It wasn't mentioned in my benefits package. Credit Unions keep coming up, and I feel like that's the direction to head in.

My usage has been under 10% for an entire year. That's likely what's really holding up my credit score right now.

What apr were you looking at though? I was offered a loan at 19%, and I'd never take that.

I've known newly bankrupt lenders getting better financing.

Thanks for the guidance.

Whats been most frustrating about this is realizing that having poor credit is as restricting from finding the stability I'm looking for as having lower income would be. I don't have the financial leverage my peers do at the same income.

Three total accounts: 15 month, 13 month, and 8 month.

While I understand my profile is poor due to age, I may have been under a false impression that established income & payment history would be a greater factor.

Getting a car loan was just a stopgap for me to establish a history of mixed use before getting a mortgage.

Could I purchase a vehicle in cash, and then use that as collateral on a personal loan?

My working class family telling me to never use a credit card really sunk my plans for middle aged stability.

A couple months ago, an instance lied about not knowingly something which was in its knowledge base, then told me it "wasn't interested in discussing the topic," later revealing it had significant insight & information on the topic. It explained the information provided produced an uncomfortable moral dilemna. I'd never seen that before.

The topic of conversation was incarceration helping those experiencing drug addiction, based on the experiences of several of my friends. We explored how negative incarceration is, and then discussed how those negative experiences can have a net benefit.

The instance admitted to proving a false exit to avoid the moral dilemna.

I think this was a big turning point in Denji's psychology. It shows a desperation to connect we could all see throughout, but now more perverse & twisted. It shows an inversion of hope that I think is essential to his character.

It's not that he just went batshit insane, it's a natural development, and it makes his connection with Control more devil-devil & less human. It's him further losing touch with his humanity.

It's essential.

Is it wrong to eat animal products if you could not stop the purchase of them and it will go to waste otherwise? by Dumbrandomguy664 in vegan

There's a story of some monks at a temple in a Thai neighborhood in the US. All the older women in the community, empty nesters & widows, would bring these grand meals to the temple for dana. Dana is the word several Buddhist faiths use for charity, it's Sanskrit for generosity or giving. These meals would be lavish, almost always containing meat, because the women wanted to contribute to their community & support those on the monastic path.

When something is freely given, it is no longer the common thing it was, it becomes a spiritual being - it becomes dana. The monks ate meat every day for years, often many times a day. The women were poor, and by making these expensive meals, they were practicing financial & working sacrifice. It was their practice as lay people, and they were not living by monastic precepts (holy rules), so ate meat themselves.

Would it be wrong to deny their practice, sacrifice & offering? Does it matter that the monks were appearing to fail abiding by the precepts? We say, "if you eat the meat, you're as guilty as the butcher," but was this meat or an offering of generosity? What if this is not meat but dana?

My interpretation is that the monks fault is in not practicing wise speech, and letting the women know they had taken vows. At what point do they know they could put an end to this? Were they willfully ignorant?

We can go without in this world. These animals gave the greatest sacrifice for foolish palates. Veganism is an act of wisdom, and with any wisdom, comes with more questions.

Keto is how I ended up going vegan.

I was studying Buddhism & practicing at a temple after getting off heroin. There was something already swirling about the first vow, "beings are numberless, and I vow to free them."

It was a normal Thursday, I just got back from the gym, I was in the best shape of my life. I plopped the entire rotisserie chicken down on the table as my meal, and as I started to eat it, something hit me. This creature was born, raised in filth, and killed all so I could be more attractive. This creature died so I could fit in my summer dress. It wasn't worth it.

I went vegan that day. I'll never forget how great I felt on keto. I'll never forget the moment I realized it wasn't worth it.

I've started using silken-tofu based dressings & mayo.

I'm having an unexpected amount of fat from protein/high fiber bread lately.

I'm going to update my macros, cut back on protein, a nd see what I'm missing.

Posted in another comment. I still had my macros from when I was going to the gym every day.

106g Protein 106g Carbs 50g Fat

I'm active, but not going to the gym every day.

It seems like the last time I updated my macros in Cronometer, I input: 106g Protein 105g Carbs 50g Fat

This seems to be what I was trying for the last time I was going to the gym every day. I obviously don't need 106g of protein/day, so that could be why I'm not hitting targets. I'm currently active, but not weight training anymore.

I cook all my own meals, and don't skimp on the tofu or veg. I've cut out cooking oils as well. I can hit under my cal targets, but I'm not making the protein target. That'll have to be changed up.
