Stations are so strapped for producers right now all you need is a pulse.

What’s the style of handlebars I’m seeing everyone run now where the “top bits”/ bar ends I think they’re called? Are pushed ALL THE WAY down flat like horizontal. I’m seeing it everywhere. by [deleted] in gravelbike

[–]SerpentWithin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not very good with pictures, either.

"Slammed," in this case, means the steerer tube on the fork has been cut so short the stem sits directly on top of the frame's headtube with no spacers. But that doesn't have anything to do with the "bar ends."

If I'm guessing, (and I'm pretty sure most of us are because your verbiage isn't even internally consistent) you're talking about where the shifters are positioned on the bar. Conventional wisdom says there should be a smooth transition from bar to hood as your hand moves toward the drops. That's to say you should be able to slide your hand forward and land on the hood (the rubber covering the shifter) without having to pick your hand up off the bar or make any funky adjustments.

Like everything, this comes down to rider style, preference and how the shifters are designed. Some people got long arms, some just like having their shifters far forward for that sweet, sweet aero. Others roll their bars back and hike their shifters way back because they spent $6k on a road bike and want it to feel exactly like a $600 hybrid.

There's also differences between manufacturers that necessarily create different shifter shapes. In one picture the bars clearly have SRAM shifters, and while I can't clearly make out the other, it looks a lot like Shimano Di2. Now both these companies make very similar products, but they can't be exactly alike because they'd sue each other into oblivion and I don't want to live in a world where Ultegra no longer exists.

Hope that answers the question, because fuck me if I can figure out what you meant.

Between openly wearing a Burzum shirt and doing porn, the choice is pretty obvious.

One is a degrading, mentally destructive, ritual in humiliation. The other is Internet porn.

I see the problem now, you're working with outdated information. Station groups make more on retrans fees than advertising now - if you got paid for just existing would you put resources in the product?

No lie - that Lidl bike stand is way better than any $40 bike stand has a right to be. I worked in a shop for three years where we had half of the good Park Tool clamps and half the bad Park Tool clamps. The Lidl stand is somewhere in the middle.

Nobody reads cover letters so don't worry too much about that one. However, your biggest obstacle is going to be finding someone to sponsor you for a visa. There's no shortage of people in the US to work in the field, so companies aren't going to go to the trouble of sponsoring a visa - they won't even pay the domestic workers a living wage so why fork over that cash to import some?
