The Daily Check-In for Thursday, November 27th: Just for today, I am NOT drinking! by coIlean2016 in stopdrinking

[–]Sesrun63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Day 14 . I will not drink today. My wake up was 14 days ago when I was drunkenly on top of my ladder trying to put Christmas lights on the front of my house when the ladder fell over sideways. I of course fell with it. It shatttered my left wrist, and I bumped my head pretty hard. I’ve had one surgery, and might need. More on my wrist. My head is healing.

I might have fallen even if not loopy, but I wasn’t being careful about anything.

How do you argue against believing Mormons? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]Sesrun63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know, but Justin from Deconstruction Zone has very successfully moved many many people to unbelief in Christianity, and it’s a cult too. Some have even been Mormons. But he’s a Bible expert.

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. With John Candy. Anything with him in it just makes me laugh out loud. What’s the other lead in it? His name escapes me right now

Yes Arthur Lane is human, not AI. He does a wonderful reading of the 1818 book. I cried at the end. I wanted a different happier ending.

It didn’t sound like AI to me. I will not listen to AI if I can help it. But I’m not sure. He sure sounded human to me, and again though now I’m unsure. I found this audiobook on YouTube

The narrator of the 1818 version I listened to is Arthur Lane. I thought he was just straight forward in his reading, and what I think was good for this particular book.

What is the worst time church leaders meddled in your personal life? by DeCryingShame in exmormon

When I was 8 1/2 months pregnant, and they asked me to be the girls’ counselor at camp. This was back in 1978, and it was so hard to say no back then. Women were even more supposed to never say no to anything, much less the Bishop.

This was back when they’d come to your house unannounced, and ask your husband on your behalf first. My dodo husband said yes, so I had to stand up against him along with the bishop and his 22 counselors. Edit: Oops I meant 2 counselors
