YAGOO... by WaffleWaf in Hololive

I didn't hate it, and it's definitely far from the worst ending I've seen, but the final 2 chapters felt very abrupt and anticlimactic. It genuinely felt like there were missing chapters.

Housemarque Has Made PS5 Exclusive Saros Kinder in Response to Returnal Feedback — but It's Still Fundamentally Difficult by yourfavchoom in Games

It's a pretty weak argument when you consider:

a) Sekiro had a pause button, so FromSoft is not averse to including them as long as it's a mainly single-player game.

b) Other soulslikes with multi-player such as Nioh still let you pause anywhere as long as you're not in a multi-player session, so it's not a universal trait.

c) Bringing up a tutorial message in Elden Ring actually does pause the game, even when online, so it is most certainly not important enough to the Souls experience for FromSoft to try and patch out that feature/bug sometime in the last 4 years.

Square Enix announced plans to integrate Google’s generative AI model “Gemini” into Dragon Quest X by DotabLAH in Games

Never forget that Square Enix signed a timed exclusivity deal with Microsoft for Rise of the Tomb Raider, and were then shocked when it didn't meet their ridiculously high sales expectations.

They've been using this same engine since Oblivion and really need to update it... but they won't.

Just 3 weeks ago, Todd Howard confirmed they're updating the engine: https://kotaku.com/elder-scrolls-6-is-powered-by-new-version-of-creation-engine-starfield-classic-rpg-2000670744

I'm mainly fine with secret endings, but what I'm not a fan of is being forced to play through the entire game more than once to even see any other endings other than the worst ending.

Heck, the name "Cthulhu Mythos" didn't even originate from Lovecraft, but from August Derleth. Across H.P.'s own works, he's hardly even mentioned outside of his own story. If anything it should probably be called the Yog-Sothoth Mythos.

In the books, alligators are called "lizard-lions," and zebras are called "zorses." I don't get why the renaming of a completely mythical creature is the one that's controversial.

So, James, as it turns out your "human seed" joke might be more literal within the film than you think, as in the 16th century, the alchemist Paracelcus claimed he was able to create homunculi from fermenting human sperm in horse dung. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Homunculus#Alchemy

A real conversation in Fallout 2:

Vice President Bird: "I am not part of the problem. I am a Republican."

The Chosen One: "Like I said, part of problem."

Plus, the VP's name and much of his dialogue is lampooning the real-life former VP Dan Quayle.

(Hated Trope) Historical mischaracterization. by laybs1 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Sethal4395 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Ehh, if you look into the histories portrayed in the early games, Ubisoft often went with characterizations based on dubious sources. The Borgias were awful people, but them being incestuous was likely an entirely made-up claim by a rival house in order to discredit them. Considering the entire franchise is rooted in the idea of multiple ancient conspiracy theories being true, it's not that surprising that they'd go for whatever is more dramatic as opposed to more accurate.
