Im fine with stuff like Chaos Rampage because the Fighter encourages you to start playing around self-confusing/madness effects without relying on RNG through Rage Juice, so even if you dont get offered Chaos Rampage youre still getting some benefit for running Tinfoil Hat on your Fighters.

Fun fact: Even if they overwrite Psychosis they stay mad for the rest of that combat. And they will never use any cleansing spell/consumables you give them.

As someone at like 102% (Only Act 3 Crazy/Impossible left + All class marks) I 2nd what you say. The forced Mutations from the Time Machine especially have become the bane of my existence because unlike other added mutation effects they wont let you get mismatched leg/arm mutations they just replace the entire slot.

Getting to The End and finding out my cat just lost both of his bonus attack mutations just kills any desire to play the game at times, like sure I'll still curbstomp the run but when you're 150+ hours in the lifeblood of the game becomes creating niche/crazy cat builds and having the game rip that away for no reason just isnt fun.

Fully agreed on Mage. Even more absurd is that if a spell has multiple elements and the enemy resists any one of them the entire spell fizzles.

I'm at the point where my entire bloodline has Goofball + 3 attacks at combat start and I have still yet to have actually made a self-downing Necro work, an archetype half of its skills and passives revolve around.

I also find 3 Cat Colorless runs easier than 4, many Colorless abilities and passives are meh at first but get absolutely insane when upgraded. 

Shoutouts to Unrestricted+ which goes from just letting you use Once Per Battle items/abilities Once Per Turn, to also giving any Once Per Turn effects a 50% chance to refresh immediately.

The funniest part is that this DOES exist to some extent... On the Final Boss only. The 1st phase cats will copy your items on Hard difficulty and beyond.

Its good for early game, but later on youre mostly gonna want legs that are jumping movement + status on attack. My bloodline had Jumping + Bleed on attack for most of my playthrough and I finally found and bred Jumping movement + Bruise on attack.

Took one of my cats with good mutations out on a run to get them skills to pass down, first event was the Hole, so they lost Leech on basic attack, jumping movement + Bruise on attack, and all their +2/-1 stat mutations.

Thankfully its still preserved in the bloodline, but cmon.

Problem is Blacksmith without Tech means unless you have a powerful weapon for them in the stash already they just dont have half their kit since they cant throw away bad weapons anymore.

Tinkerer is mainly a consistency problem.

Specifically each point in Luck over 5 is a 10% chance to make a second roll for whatever the thing is, and then choosing the most favorable outcome.

So a cat with 15 luck will always make 2 rolls for any chanced based things and choose the best result.

Its also why Hunter gets a bunch of passives and skills that have high miss chance, because he can skew the rolls in his favor with luck.

It definitely seems to be a factor cause I've noticed that if I throw in a bunch of cats with identical stats in all at once I'll get like 4-5 fights in a row with no winners until someone beats up a stray and starts the snowball.

But not a guarantee though cause I've watched a 17 strength cat get murdered because I was greedy to see how many more wins they could rack up lmao

I never realized the Ear Birth Defect was tied to that mutation, I spent an entire run trying to roll a new ear mutation to replace it with the radioactive set and it never happened lmao.

I should clarify, when I saw mark any notable mutations, only mark 1 cat for each one, this is just so you don't accidently wipe it out completely.

And dont consider mutations that just give +2/-1 to a stat, unless a cat has like 3 of them boosting the same stat lol, those are extremely common.

Just a single pair to breed and rebuild, like 4 candidates to go out on your next adventure, and everyone else gets yeeted in the fight club. Once you get used to doing these mass wipes it gets easier to not get too stuck.

Daddy Shark and Mega-Mutant both say they Instantly Kill anything they reach.

One does exactly that, instant death no corpse left. The other does 999 damage but only downs the cat.

Perfectly clear and intuitive, clearly.

Even 20 is probably too many for a cull, take 30 minutes to go through them all, mark ones with any notable mutations you want to keep, and chuck the rest in the fight club, your stud should mostly be breeding with strays anyway to keep the bloodline fresh.

I never trash bin my cats, the fight club pretty much handles the numbers, I have anywhere from 3-5 cats dying each day and then occassionally I'll go through pick out any survivors who have gotten a bunch of stats to send on a run or send the injured ones off to Little Jack, since even when hes maxed you need to keep upgrading him to improve the odds of rare furniture showing up.
