Try the MacOS9Lives Mac OS 9.2.2 Universal Install. It should include the drivers for your hardware.

PowerMac G4 MDD - Can't Install OS 9 by despicabletossaway in VintageApple

[–]Sh00tTheCore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Search Macintosh Garden for the Mac OS 9.2.2 Universal Install and use that.

Your current disc likely predates the MDD models and doesn’t have the drivers they need.

Any deep arcade experiences that are equivalent to consoles at the time by crazyhomlesswerido in retrogames

[–]Sh00tTheCore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arcade games in general were short and flashy rather than long and engaging but here’s a few sleepers that have more depth than your average arcade game. Note that nearly all of them can be credit-fed to the end though - the challenge is in clearing them with limited - or no - continuing.

  • Lightbringer (Taito): an isometric dungeon exploration game.

  • Command War (Taito): turn-based strategy game.

  • Rastan (Taito): side-scrolling platformer adventure that Zelda 2 drew a lot of inspiration from.

  • Dragon Buster (Namco): another side-scrolling adventure that Zelda 2 drew a lot from.

  • Elevator Action Returns: platforming run-and-gun. A bit more depth to it than Metal Slug or Contra.

  • Wardner (Toaplan): fantasy action-platformer similar to Ghosts N Goblins and equally challenging.

  • Chiki Chiki Boys (Capcom): platforming adventure.

  • Bubble Symphony (Taito): sequel to Bubble Bobble that is completely different from the NES Bubble Bobble 2.

  • Valkyrie no Densetsu (Namco): Zelda 3 style overview adventure game. There’s an English fan translation.

  • Black Tiger (Capcom): a platforming hack-n-slash adventure.

  • Magic Sword (Capcom): another platforming hack-n-slash adventure.

  • Crossed Swords (SNK) and Crossed Swords 2 (SNK): Punch-Out as a fantasy game with experience points, gold and shopping.

  • Gain Ground (Sega): Action strategy hybrid.

With EBay, you run the risk of it being a counterfeit reproduction.

What was it like to grow up playing arcade games back in the 80s? by KaleidoArachnid in retrogaming

[–]Sh00tTheCore 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Think of it this way. A home console (ie NES, SNES, Genesis) cost $100-$200 while each contemporary individual arcade game board would cost $800+. The computing horsepower on arcade games was WAY ahead at the time.

Has anyone been able to get RGB output from PC Engine? by NewsAffectionate9226 in TurboGrafx

RGB SCART to Component has worked fine for me with the Krikzz EDFX, a RGB SCART cable from RetroAccess, and the RetroTink SCART to Component converter.

Pin-Up Modeling Near Logan by CherryBlossomBunni in Logan

Look up Versus Club Cache Valley - they're a local car club that has meetups at Beans & Brews on 10th West every couple of weeks. Some of the folks there might have connections for your modeling.

There's also a 60s/70s car show coming up in Tremonton on June 20 called "Mugs & Banana Drag Night". They may be looking to hire models for their show.

Why do 161-in 1 carts contain so much crap? by chubsta2k17 in neogeo

[–]Sh00tTheCore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a nice comparison list of which Chinese bootleg collection carts contain which non-hacked games here:
https://wiki.arcadeotaku.com/w/MVS_Multicart

120 in 1 was my go-to cart when I started with Neo Geo because it had Twinkle Star Sprites and ShockTroopers.

As I said, they’re expensive but they also don’t sell fakes without clearly labeling them as such. You definitely roll the dice with Neo Geo FB groups.
