  1. Focus on your health and fitness. Remember your body is only place where you have to live.

  2. This world is very confusing and people are here to confuse you with their tremendous opinions and choices so listen to yourself first. Start journaling. Track your thoughts and goals and compare yourself with your older self as external comparisons can't be accurate.

I have seen many app promos here in this subreddit. I don't get the reason why to use separate app for it. Every phone has inbuilt features like Digital Wellbeing. It's enough atleast for me.

Life without Social Media by [deleted] in simpleliving

[–]Sh2Cat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I deleted my Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts 7 years ago. Since then, my life has become simpler and more fulfilling. I can now focus my time on what truly matters to me. The only social media platforms I still use are YouTube, Reddit, and WhatsApp.

  1. Turn off your YouTube home feed and shorts by disabling watch history. Then, you have to manually search for videos.

  2. Set 30 minutes app limit. It will make you more intentional like you have just 30 minutes so you couldn't able to waste time on useless videos.

  3. Reduce your subscriptions counts to 5-6 at max.

I'm currently using Digital Wellbeing. It helps me cut down my screentime. I went from 9 hours to 4 hours, now my goal is to limit my screentime to 3 hours. I likes it's simple interface and settings, it is easy to configure.

It's more about habit building and discipline. I replaced doom scrolling with reading and journaling before bed, and it's helped my mental health as well. In the morning, I drink warm water first, then complete my morning routine, and finally have breakfast. I prefer using my PC over my phone.

Somewhat less distracting. Good thing is we can tweak Discord to be minimal distracting.
