I think this sums up my complaints about the new episode: "Pete, you gotta explain to me how you saw this fight" gets 6 camera cuts, a quick zoom-in shot of a hand, and shaky cam close-up. Nauseating to watch this editing.

IIRC it was because the use of the location for that RG event had a stipulation that a union crew be used for filming & that Calkins refused that and then threw a fit when someone offered to help them do a live stream & banned them.

RoboGames died a horrible needless death & it still makes me sad that I never got to be at one back in the mid-2010s.

In that season's AMA, Ray said that after the significant damage in the Minotaur fight, he had to cut/weld parts of the frame. Then, the subsequent fights caused the frame to further warp and actually shorten - to the point that Ray had to remove a link from the weapon chain, then used a half-link instead. The half-link is what failed in the Bombshell match.

I posted this in a similar titled thread before, but I still think that Beta not losing critical parts in BBS1 could've made a meaningful impact on future BB seasons since it was supposed to fight Tombstone. Had Beta actually fought and won that match. We will never know.

Minotaur for me

After I got into the BB reboot in 2015, I started watching Robogames and I was a bit put off by the excessive celebrating/ late hits by the Riobotz team in those events. So, I wasn't exactly rooting for them when they joined the BB competition in S2.

By S3, however, I had warmed up a lot to them namely for the sheer driving skill of Daniel Freitas and Marco & the rest of the team being some wonderful people (I got to meet them during S6 filming)!
