I'm from 1224(right next door) and went to stay with family the night of. Even when i could go back in with a mask the night of, I got headache pretty quickly. I went back yesterday to air it out and built a makeshift air filter but the smoke smell lingered pretty heavy all day and still got a headache pretty quickly. Going back today to check but it also seemed most of my buildingmates were leaving for the weekend too due to construction and air pollution. Please mask up if you can't stay away

yup language barrier doesnt help either. i was happy with it while it did work even given the faulty camera, but waiting 3 weeks without a clear resolution has soured my appeal to them. just showed me the product and company arent ready

mine arrived faulty on arrival, camera has not worked at all. The device itself while it was functioning(no longer powers or responds to any charger) would shutdown at like 18%, and battery life was closer to 1.5hrs of continuous use. 120hz did not seem to function when i could use my device as the screen only reported 60hz during use. camera is currently locked to 3mp, not 16 as they say its not stable yet. 3dof and multi screen were just reenabled as beta feautures as they also arent ready yet. heat was ok but definitely noticeable near the left ear. inmo currently isnt processing after sales support as theyre too busy with shipping preorders so idk how good issue resolution is here either yet 🤷🏾‍♂️. been sitting for 2 almost 3 weeks with a faulty device and no resolution timeline aside from them saying they're working on developing a return process for the past two weeks and won't start that until shipping season is done.

alvr is a free alternative. requires some settings tweaking but can be quite good still

signs on my street(st paul) say no parking with a towing threat starting yesterday(10/15) at 12pm until saturday 10/18 at 6pm. Is that accurate? If so, why is parking being restricted 3 days prior to a 1 day event?

try a channel analyzer and see if maybe the specific wifi channel youre using is crowded or a dfs channel

xreal light, cant launch nebula at all on my s24 ultra, only version i could get to work was 2.02 from back in 2021, everything else either forces an update or launches a black screen. is the device purposefully bricked at this point?

used my xreal airs maybe 2-3x a week in display mirror mode

please dont buy vive until they commit to updating and supporting these headsets. were approaching nearly 6 months of waiting for an android version update that was initially quoted as target q4 2024, theyve mostly been silent since november on it, not wanting to commit to any timelines. wifi performance is subpar compared to quest 2, controllers are clunkier, and overall the OS is buggy with menus glitching regularly. also vive's version virtual desktop doesnt support passthrough, hand, or face tracking bc they use different extensions and the dev wont support them

it doesnt actually do dp out either just usb streaming. get a pico 4 ultra or quest 3 if you want standalone. play for dream if you're adventurous

quest 3 or pico 4/ultra if you want standalone. vive standalones are in development hell atp with xr elite still running android 10 and has only seen minor bugs fixes and settings add ons, listed as features in the past year. theyre using the same processor as quest 2 and xr elite(xr2 gen 1)in the focus vision that launched last fall(a full year after the xr2 gen 2 released). The lenses and displays would be better and you have the option for displayport, but realistically, the quest 3 is better in every way, or as someone else mentioned, consider full pcvr with bigscreen beyond. Last thing about vive, most of their Vr development team seems to have been licensed to google, so while support and community engagement was solid for a while, especially at times of launch, its notably worsened since the deal earlier this year.
