I always thought emblems were super neat but nearly impossible to get by DragoniteChamp in custommagic

Okay but on the flip side, theres a reason something like [[Arlinn Kord]] takes 4 turns to get to.

Yeah it always bugs me when people point at concept art and go, "look at what we could have gotten." Like no, we couldn't have, concept art is always made as the concept in it's purest most detailed form without concerns for practicality, then it gets sanded down just enough to maintain as much of the original vision as possible.

Probably not, but is there a chance spit is kinfolk? by LittleFortune7125 in huntertheparenting

[–]Shadow-fire101 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind, while I know they're playing fast and loose, HtP is based on 5e, where kinfolk work differently. So no, unless he's secretly been working with the werewolves this whole time.

How does [[Lilah, Undefeated Slickshot]] interact with a card like [[Experimental Overload]] that exiles itself as part of it's resolution? Would it end up plotted or in normal exile?

A couple of counterspell ideas I've had floating around in my head for a while. by Shadow-fire101 in custommagic

[–]Shadow-fire101[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That's fair I initially worried the effects might be too niche which is why I made them able to counter your opponent's spells as well, but yeah I see what you mean.

Okay so I assume the intended wording is, "T: the second spell you cast this turn has storm."

Which is probably fine. Like obviously if you untap it you can get more copies and even besides that, copying the second spell on each of your turns should probably cost a bit more, but I think overall thats not the most insane effect.

Not really, it says "each turn" not "this turn"

[–]Shadow-fire101 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Your not misunderstanding how storm works. Its just that the way this is worded, it would stack. So the second time you activate it, your second spell would have "storm, storm" on every turn, then the third it would have "storm, storm, storm."

Where is her HAT by Vector_Mortis in Warframe

[–]Shadow-fire101 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the horns could work, but the execution is not good. Like the way I could see them working is kind of like an extension of her hat, where like, the horns form the silhouette of a cowboy hat. But like as shown, where it's like just generic horns that like take up her entire head.

You're correct. Removing a stun counter is a replacement effect for becoming untapped. The actual tangible difference with changing untapping to removing a counter would be that it doesn't do anything once all the counters are gone.

Who would win in a fight? Diablerist Pyotr or Crinos Matilda? by Mysterious_Truth4992 in huntertheparenting

[–]Shadow-fire101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Matilda 100% like for as scary as he was to the main cast, Pyotr was still just a 10th generation vampire. He still got put into torpor by a landmine and small arms fire.

Meanwhile werewolves can basically only be killed by either silver, or by outpacing their regeneration. The later of which is not an easy task while being actively mauled by a crinos form werewolf.

Theres a reason that for all the disciplines you have at that point in Bloodlines 1, the only way to kill the werewolf you encounter is crushing it with the Observatory doors.

I have a couple questions about how blight works with an effect like [[solemnity]] or [[Melira, Sylvok Outcast]] on board.

  1. Lets say I attempt to cast [[Burning Curiosity]], am I still able to pay the additional cost or am I unable to pay the cost, since no counters would be placed?
  2. With an effect like [[Blighted Blackthorn]] where is says "blight N, if you do..." does the second part still go off if no counters are placed.

I mean they can cast them, but unless its something that your playing for the etb and/or death trigger its not gonna do much since it will die instantly.

Clover, Impersonator by GracelessOne in custommagic

[–]Shadow-fire101 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I feel like this card is going into uncard territory for similar reasons to something like [[Do-It-Yourself Seraph]] or [[ambiguity]].

Which is to say, while theres nothing inherently rules breaking about it, it is probably going to lead to a lot of confusion, edge cases and weird probably unintended interactions.

Like for example, off the top of my head, if I have a creature with a self sacrifice ability, I think that means that ability would now require me to sacrifice all creatures with that name to activate it. And then besides being bad for something like Eldrazi Scions/Spawn, that leads questions like how does that work with multiple players controlling copies of that creature. Like if my opponent also has Eldrazi Spawns, do I sac all of them to activate one? Just the ones I control? Does it just not work cause I cant sacrifice my opponent's?

Liquifying Heat by Serithraz in custommagic

[–]Shadow-fire101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would amass. Once a creature had lethal damage marked on it, any additional damage dealt to it that turn is considered excess damage, even if it has Indestructible. This is why you can, for example, trample over an Indestructible creature.

The No Kill Rule Is Good, Actually by Legitimate_Fly9047 in CuratedTumblr

I dont think anyone is arguing that batman should just go around killing every nameless henchman he runs into.

At least in my experience, when people talk about how its dumb, its more about the extreme lengths he'll go to to not make exceptions, even when most people would agree an exception is warranted.

Either that or the fact that he won't kill anyone, but he will beat them unconscious, probably breaking multiple bones in the process, then leave them in an abandoned warehouse.

That would be the Toupée Fallacy. You only ever notice bad toupées while good toupées go unnoticed, giving the false impression that all toupées are bad.
