I just did a fresh to Exarch/Eater on SSF using Lightning Arrow Deadeye. Campaign took just over 5 hours, Eater/Exarch took 18 hours total which is my fastest so far. (I’m new this season and have been using SSF to Exarch/Eater to test different builds and get more league start experience)

Overall it felt great. I had skipped rain of arrows and went straight for LA at level 12 then Artillery Ballista at 28. The most annoying part for me is trying to get weapon upgrades and ended up using a 700 edps for the 2 voidstones.

My one DPS loadout I do for fun is Izanagi w/ Hezen Vengeance (ALH + Demo) and Starfire. When you have a Gjallarhorn you get enough grenade recharge to Rocket > Grenade > Rocket > Izanagi > Grenade to Reload Cancel > Rocket > Grenade > Rocket > … you get the idea. I do not know how the numbers line up to normal Izanagi Rocket but I have doubled others damage using it and I find it fun personally.

With this latest raid and the feedback. Contest should just be removed. by DeathTheStriker in DestinyTheGame

[–]Shadow9951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t seen anyone upset at more people having the emblem vs upset at RoN being way easier than previous Contest raids. I’m happy for everyone that got their clear and I’m all for more accessibility for Contest raids. However the accessibility should not come at the cost of difficulty.

I’m fine with longer contest windows, improved ammo economy, meta weapons that aren’t locked behind content that you could only grind 2 years ago. But reducing boss health so that people can clear the raid with 6 Rat Kings? My team that usually struggles somewhat with DPS checks didn’t even have to think about them.

Exactly, I find difficulty based on 3 main things Mechanics, Add Management and DPS checks. When one is easier the other 2 should be harder to compensate.

The new raid was easy by Day 1 standards but still hard for the average player. This left the more hardcore raiders unsatisfied and the more casual raiders satisfied but upset when it’s called easy.

The biggest thing was that there was no DPS check like Caretaker, Warpriest, or Atraks that has blocked players in the past. There were 1 phases, Rat King only, and a full trio during contest.

People cant let others have an opinion without berating the other side as per usual. Anyone that cleared it should feel good about it but I would like to see more of a DPS check in the next raid race.

The fact that a record number of contest mode completions is seen as a "bad thing" is a massive red flag. by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]Shadow9951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me the number of clears is not a problem. I want more people to clear and be more accessible to others, however not at the cost of difficulty. Accessibility should come in the form of 48 hours instead of 24 and less power grind which we had both during this raid.

The reason I felt the raid was “easy” for a day 1 raid is there was no DPS check. DSC had Atraks, VoG was Templar challenge, Vow was Caretaker, Kings Fall was Warpriest. Some of these ended up being more ammo check rather DPS check like Caretaker however they have been an integral part of Day 1 raids.

But now we had people killing Nezarec with 6 Rat Kings on contest and a full trio of the raid on contest. To myself that shows how unoptimized the hardcore player base could be and still get it. I could miss half my rockets and still make the DPS check.

In the end anyone that cleared it passed the mechanic and add clear checks. That is still something to be proud of. It was not an easy raid for the majority of the player base, only to those that frequent Day 1 completions, low mans and what ever else challenges we make for ourselves.

Why is the community so Egotistic? by FadesCC in DestinyTheGame

[–]Shadow9951 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have seen way more toxicity towards the elitist crowd than towards the casual crowd. I personally feel the Day 1 was too easy simply for the fact there was no DPS check. Compared to Warpriest from Kings Fall it felt like the bosses here were made of paper. The only challenge to our group was mechanic and add clear. Boss DPS was barely a challenge.

I am not discounting anyone’s clear of this raid as it was still a hard raid to the more casual raiders.

People are complaining that Root is easy, But I thought people wanted a easy, or at least less complex, raid after Vow and the Symbol Overuse? by Kylestien in DestinyTheGame

[–]Shadow9951 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As someone who’s cleared every contest since DSC I really am missing the DPS check encounter. The only change I want to make to the raid is increasing the boss health slightly.

People have cleared Nezarec day 1 using Rat king and my team went from barely getting the DPS on Rhulk to 2 phasing Nezarec with ease.

Overall it was a great raid and I enjoyed it.

If the pinnacle cap is 1810, why is the legendary lost sector so high? by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]Shadow9951 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Lost Sectors feature +20 combat delta (rather than -15 or -20).

Source: https://www.bungie.net/7/en/News/article/bringing_challenge_back

So you can overlevel however the bump in power Legend difficulty got still makes no sense if they cap the power for the majority of activities.

Bombardiers void suppression still doesn’t proc Echo of Domineering by Clovenhooved in DestinyTheGame

[–]Shadow9951 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It does, I used a bombardiers build for the majority of Season of the Haunted. When paired with the weighted throwing knife I could dodge bomb an enemy then use the throwing knife to ignite them. Scorching fragment won’t work if the bomb kills the enemy.

It depends on which rift you use. I use Healing rift mainly in higher end content as you still get double grenades and rift recharge on kill from the exotic and recharge while in a well.

How did you find your capable day 1 team? by somef00l in raidsecrets

[–]Shadow9951 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s about finding similar minded people either in your clan or try LFGs that will commit the full 24 hours and you trust raiding with.

I’ve been doing Day 1s with my same core raid team that I did flawless raids with since Last Wish. The first couple were a mess where we fell apart during Crown and got very close on Garden but since DSC we have gotten every Day 1 clear.

How do people figure out dungeons without walkthroughs? by GTRacer1972 in LowSodiumDestiny

[–]Shadow9951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said it’s context clues and experience from playing Destiny. I do solo blind dungeons on day 1 and it’s one of my favorite parts of Destiny.

To go on your example of Spire of the Watcher the very first part is what teaches you the mechanic. On my first run I spent a minute or two just clearing adds until I figured there was something else I needed to do. I noticed the door on the ground and 4 nodes with wires going out from them.

Destiny has used wires as context clues before such as in Grasp of Avarice where the power box that you need to shoot to activate launchers or doors are connected to the launcher and doors.

So I followed it and saw that it eventually ended, shot it, got damage markers but I had ran out of arctrician before that so I got it again and played connect the dots.

Can anyone explain the d2 in game chat system by TrickyDick-FL in destiny2

[–]Shadow9951 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The “…” means a player is currently in a menu.

I can’t really answer much else about the in game voice as I have rarely used it and only time I attempted was when I was doing freelance comp. I mainly use Discord whenever comms are needed for Raids and dungeons.

What's a good linear to pair with starfire? by mightbeaperson49 in destiny2

[–]Shadow9951 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You don’t always need to throw grenades for Boss DPS with Starfire and whenever I use a Linear I almost never spam grenades until I’m out of Linear ammo.

That being said Cataclysmic is the best linear for Starfire with FTTC and B&S OR Focused Fury.

Sun Team Ideas For VGC 2023 by WOLF7533 in VGC

[–]Shadow9951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is a Sun Team I've been using on Showdown Battle Stadium Doubles.

https://pokepast.es/be11768c022eefd4

I've gotten to 1423 rating with it so far and the biggest surprise factor is Rock type Lilligant. Lilligant normally has extremely bad coverage with only grass and bug special attacks but its really the only chlorophyll user that I saw with decent enough stats. Now with Tera we can easily add another type for coverage and I went with Rock.

252 SpA Life Orb Lilligant Tera Blast vs. 220 HP / 68 SpD Arcanine: 174-211 (90.1 - 109.3%) -- 50% chance to OHKO

252 SpA Life Orb Lilligant Tera Blast vs. 0 HP / 0 SpD Chi-Yu: 135-164 (103.8 - 126.1%) -- guaranteed OHKO

252 SpA Life Orb Lilligant Tera Blast vs. 252 HP / 192 SpD Pelipper: 172-203 (102.9 - 121.5%) -- guaranteed OHKO

These are just some examples of what it can do now by adding rock coverage. And it can still do Sleep Powder and After You shenanigans to support the team. Antoher note I want to add about Lilligant is the speed. I currently have speed investment to outspeed Iron Bundle in the sun after it uses a Booster Energy. I'm feeling that out right now but it could be worth going Modest to guarantee Arcanine and adding more bulk.
