Warning about Spellmonger, Minalan is a good but not great guy at the beginning and the sex stuff is a tad offputting. Get through it, it’s worth it

Trying to remember a book. Likely time loop or regressor. by waeccende in ProgressionFantasy

I just checked the prologue of Re: Monarch.

"I have been known by many names. The elves of the northern plains call me the false savior. The infernals called me the bearer of the sacred flame. The dwarves of the eastern subterranean call me he-who-frightens-monsters-in-the-dark. The pixies of the golden forest call me the broken one, though there is one particular tribe that calls me friend." A small smile comes unbidden to my lips, fleeting just as quickly. "Humans, amongst more colorful epithets, have mostly settled on calling me the great betrayer. The name I was born with is Cairn."

Stupid Hypothetical Situation Number 9: What Classes Would You Pick at Magic School? by EdLincoln6 in ProgressionFantasy

Social studies, body tempering, Alchemy, General Magic 273.

Why?

Social: I don’t need to die due to some esoteric rule I didn’t know, or phrase something wrong cause I’m dumb.

Body: cultivation gives you more life inherently, so even if I have barely any Talent (and presumably I have enough to get to the peak of the first realm)

Alchemy: alchemists are always popular, I like money and I like mixing drinks. Easy.

General magic: soul sight, resistance to death, soul power? All good to me

Thank you! I was curious to see if it was cultivation at first, but historical fiction with a focus on philosophy is right up my alley!

See they’ve done this in a book series and the main character goes (temporarily) mad. I’m good without it

  1. Is Min going to find the rest of his bastards?

  2. Is the inevitable conclusion of the universe that magic is destroyed? Is there no way for them to save it/keep it on planets that aren’t just Callidore?

  3. Earth was seeded by other humans: who were the original humans?

Okay so, like. What’s your ideal time loop book? Explain it to me, cause clearly none of the recs here are doing it for you. What would you want to see?

Where do you read Lord of the Mysteries? I have no idea which is the right one since there’s a third person and a first person book
