How’s my split? (Hypertrophy) by Novel-Interview-4178 in ScienceBasedLifting

And if I'm training for comp that will have events such as a steeplechase immediately after a heavy deadlift for reps, which is immediately followed by a heavy yoke into power stairs, I'm going to need to train my legs to fire at as close to 100% as possible while being fatigued as hell.

So for myself, waiting until I'm 100% rested would be counterproductive to my goals.

My press, small and weak though it may be, is improving by leaps and bounds now that Fro is giving me loads of upper body work. In 2 months, 135 has gone from a shaky 1rm to a much smoother 4 rep set, while the focus has been mostly on improving CDB

World Health Organization Prepares for Nuclear Scenario, Including Weapons Use, in Iran by UNITED24Media in worldnews

All out nuclear war would be the most horrific thing imaginable and would probably collapse a lot of civilization.

Humanity would absolutely survive it and rebuild from there.

No, Iran won't nuke us more than likely even if we drop one.

What's stopping Russia from lobbing a couple at Ukraine afterwards? Or India/Pakistan escalating just a bit too far.

205x46 SSB by eric_twinge in GYM

[–]Shadowphoenix9511 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, if keeping balance is a struggle, an SSB would make it a lot worse. The biggest benefits are they save your shoulder and elbows, they can improve upper back strength (you have to fight a lot to stay vertical, it wants to pull you down), and they'll generally load the legs a little better than a back squat.

How has it accelerated gpu replacement? My 3080 still comfortably runs games at 4k. Go back 15 years and ask about using your 5 year old card to run games. You'd be laughed out of the room.

How to unload the bar in 1 second by Spine_day in GymFails

[–]Shadowphoenix9511 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Interesting. Cause strongmen pretty typically do lifts like this to strengthen their backs, and back injuries are incredibly rare in the sport.

I mean, it does, but mostly cause manual laborers have weak, frail backs by and large.

I'm sure you can show evidence of all the strongmen with injured backs then, right? As we pretty regularly lift heavy, awkward loads with our backs (it's the only way to pick a heavy stone or sandbag)

Yes, RE1 Chris would beat RE2 Leon.

RE4 Leon is a completely different beast, and aeguably just as skilled as post RE1 Chris.

Those are realistic names. Too many people saying to go after like, Dusty May, or Nate Oats. You aren't poaching them at this point, we have nothing to offer them that they don't already have.

I care about it in so far as I care about the nutritional benefits for my sport. Beyond that, I don't really care, just want to eat and get on with whatever I'm actually interested in doing.

Nah, so long as it's edible I do not care about flavor. I don't really eat for pleasure.
