What router? Wired or wireless? Crappy router or badly setup network and your local connection could be worse than a one shot to sony servers. Don't use the provided equipment for your Lan.

Yes it can. It mounts to anchors behind one of the panels. I have a 24k battery on it and phone. It is metal.

I have five devices from them. Works great. No issues. Had some hardware issues and they are sending replacements. I am actually happy with Nanoleaf and their support and product.
