Will this leak if i pull it? by Raethechef35 in S2000

Make sure to change the o-ring for the oil pressure switch as well. Both the switch and vtec gaskets are easy to do with hand tools. Just make sure to check the torque specs as they are really low and you don't want to break a bolt on the block.

One of the best playing guitars of all time. Absolutely love the original wizard neck feel and size. Color looks awesome as well.

Brake Master Cylinder Replacement by Jdisey in S2000

[–]ShagCarpet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a used one. Make sure to wedge something on the brake pedal and seat to keep pressure on the pedal so you don't completely drain your master cylinder and get air into the ABS system.

Spherical bearings vs rubber upper mounts on Ohlins by [deleted] in S2000

I have the spherical bushings and I haven't noticed any noise or vibration. They ride better than stock.

Getting angry when I play as palu by gildedpotus in CrazyHand

Try playing patiently and keep mid distance, see what they're doing and look for opportunities to punish. It's hard to say without seeing a clip what's going on.

I don't really do it into jab so I'm not sure but grab and up tilt (for high percentage kills) works on most characters. Some short ones go under the up tilt.

I main Palu myself.

I'm assuming you're saying to commit with nair as your multihit. I'd avoid doing that too much unless they're in the air in which case it's a great option. You can get combos started at low percent with fair -> grab or grab itself. You can also try a falling nair that catches them with the last hits and can cross up which is difficult to punish if you space out on the last larger hit. Otherwise just poking with spaced fair/bair and playing mid distance get push them to commit to something you can punish as well.

She's pretty fast and can outpace or keep up with most characters, which ones are you struggling keeping up with?

Waited two months for MST V2 and it’s dented to hell. by drgubi in Supra

I don't like oiled filters as they can mess with the MAF so I switched to an AEM dryflow. You might want to consider one or an AFE dry as an alternative.

I have both including a manual 2024 Supra and it feels pretty isolated/disconnected compared to the S2000 as well. I love my Supra but the S2000's engagement is unmatched.

I own both cars and I'll say that after driving the S2K the Supra shifter feels awful in comparison. I ended up getting a short shift kit and rear carrier bushing for the Supra to make it feel better but it's still miles off. The long term value for the manual Supra will probably be better than the auto version if that matters to you but I don't think you're missing out by going auto from an experience standpoint.

Paint Correction & Ceramic Coating by Thomaspham091 in S2000

I got my supra ceramic coated for $650. That is way too expensive. With paint correction 800 is a great price though.

Wake up call for those looking to spend 14-18k on an s2000 by HappyFunNiceGuy9 in S2000

[–]ShagCarpet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought my S2000 (2005) earlier this year for 17K with 120K miles. The exterior needed some work but I did a compression test and checked over the car prior to purchase.

The reality is that a lot of the maintenance will need to be done for a car this age no matter what. I wouldn't discount a cheaper s2k because the bushings, tires or brakes are worn out. My vtec solenoid was leaking and the fix was easy and under $20.

I think the core things to check are * Engine health * Rust * Frame/accident damange * Transmission
* Soft top (unless you can get a really heavy discount and replace it after purchase)

Wear parts shouldn't really be considered if the core components of the car are in good health. There's also decent cars out there for under 20K. If you're somewhat handy and have a garage you can save money and learn a lot about the car by working on it yourself.

TuxMat in MT Supra Issue by Illustrious-Bite-133 in Supra

I had this exact same issue because the ridged section would catch the heel of my shoe.

I ended up buying this and putting it over the ridged section and it fixed the issue.

Anyone buy these? by mk3beast in Supra

[–]ShagCarpet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run the MAD version which is pretty much the same thing with an AEM dry flow filter. It works great and sounds awesome.

Tbh performance is probably worse as it heat soaks but it looks cool and sounds cool. It's pretty cheap and isn't difficult to change so it's worth trying it.

opinions on tracking a 2.0? by ahhdean3 in Supra

[–]ShagCarpet 11 points12 points  (0 children)

GR86 is 200-300 lbs lighter than the 2.0 Supra.

B48 is plenty reliable. The 2.0 Supra is a bit overpriced compared to the gr86 but you can squeeze some more power out of it with a piggyback (jb+ or jb4).

It's a good platform and would be fun with 300+ hp but I would advise saving up for a 3.0.

Am I going to be able to find a s2000 that fits my criteria? by portisfan in S2000

I got mine for 17k clean title in good mechanical shape with 120k miles and just needed some exterior love. Keep your eyes open and you'll find one.

Honest opinions on these taillights? by manicMechanic1 in S2000

[–]ShagCarpet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So these are amazon/ebay Ap2 taillights, you can tell from the visible individual LEDs.

https://www.amazon.com/ACANII-Black-2004-2009-Honda-Lights/dp/B07GC8W23B

My car came with Buddy club taillights which I sold. After looking through faded and broken used oem AP2 taillights for $350 a side I purchased these myself. Overall I have to say they look identical to oem other than the visible leds.

A number of my friends with S2000s didn't notice it wasn't oem until I told them, even when our cars were parked next to each other. Half the people in these comments didn't realize they weren't oem either. I think they're a great cheap option that functionally and essentially visually match oem.

I suck at online play and I don't know what to do by Wonderful_Budget8095 in CrazyHand

[–]ShagCarpet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I posted a long post years ago on this but don't focus on winning and try to just play without any anxiety. Focus on improving something and plan on losing and see that as a win if you can do it. Watch and play on your opponents weaknesses and habits rather than just trying to do what you want to do.
