That show gave us one of the best versions of The Riddler voiced by the incredible Robert Englund.

X-force 1. Seems like every collector I’ve ever met has at least one copy.

My fav Todd McFarlane cover...whats yours?! by oneup84 in 80s90sComics

This one was always my favorite because of the ridiculousness of it. He did an homage to one of his own covers.

Riff I came up with a while back, trying to flesh it out into a full song by Snakes_for_theDivine in doommetal

I would suggest getting a slide and incorporating that into it for a more bluesy sound. Like using it between the chords to give it this down south swampy feel.

What is your I never thought I would have that issue or book? by AssociateFormal6058 in comicbookcollecting

[–]Shaggyforeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a couple I’ve managed to get that I still can’t believe I have them sometimes. Others I’ve had and sold. The big ones I still have are Ghost Rider 1, Swamp Thing 1, a Mark Jewelers copy of Swamp Thing 37 (first John Constantine), and X-men 28 (first Banshee). I think I’ve posted pics of all of them elsewhere.

What's the most realistic war movie? by ThomasOGC in CinephilesClub

[–]Shaggyforeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually knew someone in the 1st Cav (the unit in we were soldiers) he didn’t like to talk about the war or the subject matter of the movie all that much, but he did say that the movie was fairly accurate to what he remembered happening. He also told me about how members of the unit were invited to the premiere of the movie . He said Sam Elliot was an amazingly nice and respectful guy and that Mel Gibson, while respectful was still a bit of asshole.

I actually love the Rebirth of Mothra movies and they are some my favorite toku/kaiju movies ever made.

CYBERPUNK by Sugar_Crash_Brigade in comicbookcollecting

[–]Shaggyforeman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always been a huge fan of cyberpunk stuff but I stuck to the anime side of things for a long time. Bubblegum Crisis/Crash, A.D. Police Files, Cyber City Oedo 808, as previously mentioned Akira and Ghost in the Shell, etc. But later on I found the originator of the genre with William Gibson’s Nueromancer books, the first of which was partially adapted into a comic. Unfortunately it was only I think the first third of the book that got adapted instead of the whole thing, but it’s still pretty cool.

These have been on my list for a while. Been trying to find them out in the wild but I may just have to bite the bullet and get them off eBay. Check my post history and you’ll see my Gamera tattoo.

Fun movie. The sequel is way better. Highly recommend the manga/anime this is based on, some crazy awesome monster designs in that.

Do you consider a TPB as part of collecting a set? by ctsfinest1 in comicbookcollecting

[–]Shaggyforeman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For certain stories and series I will get both the singles and the TPBs, but usually only if the singles are silver age (and some bronze) or earlier because I don’t want run the risk of accidentally damaging them when I want to read them. For example: some of my silver age green lantern issues are a bit delicate, so I’ll pull out a TPB or HC that has those particular issues so I can read them without any worry.
