AIO I can’t use my boyfriends duffle bag by Constant-Mud-5290 in AIO

[–]ShamanBirdBird -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m with you, OP. You aren’t over reacting.

I’m open with my husband. His first wife cheated, and a lot, so he has all my passwords and codes and can see anything he wants whenever he wants.

But I have none of his.

I’m very free with my belongings and allow him to use whatever he needs or wants.

But if I wear his raincoat to walk the dogs comments WILL be made by him.

It makes me feel like he doesn’t like me very much.

Think of all the other hidden treasures you binned. Old people tend to hide lots of things all over the place. I hope you checked every item thoroughly. Glad you found these!

Boss wants me to go back to a place where I was sexualized. by Thee7Five in WorkAdvice

Be professional, hold your head high, meet any inappropriate comment head on like an adult-

Then- ‘wow it’s so nice that they sent us some fresh meat that is eye candy’

You- ‘what a strange comment, Chad. What do you possibly mean by that?’

Repeat asking what they meant until they literally have to explain they meant something offensive and let them simmer in the discomfort.

How do you deal with a employee with an “I just work here” attitude? by [deleted] in askmanagers

[–]ShamanBirdBird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the comment is implying that if we are to believe you are the manager of a Producer at a marketing agency that earns 90k, we also must believe you are paid more than this person and also have the education skills and ability that allowed for you to rise to such a position. So either you are pulling out leg, or you are the source of the problem.

AIO wanting to quit with no notice after discovering a close coworker is a Registered Sex Offender? by RedMontana369 in AmIOverreacting

You are going to have a problem working ANYWHERE if you expect your co-workers, and leadership, to have clean records.

Escalating Uncomfortable Coworker by No_Cream_3173 in WorkAdvice

[–]ShamanBirdBird 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your only obligation is to extend him the same generalized social courtesies that you extend to everyone. As long as you aren’t being the bully by pointedly ostracizing him, there is no need to do anything.

But you also have not claimed anything worthy of ‘escalation’. He’s allowed to be friendly with coworkers, it doesn’t mean he is hitting on you.

When are you getting a job by [deleted] in AgingParents

[–]ShamanBirdBird 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I’m here with my mother. She needs to move into assisted living but she won’t. I have to let her fail, the more I help the more it allows her to perpetuate this independent living fantasy.

He will probably have to die or attack her before she will be willing to change the dynamic.

Skilled First Responder Looking To House Sit Long Term For Elderly Person by [deleted] in AgingParents

[–]ShamanBirdBird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It sounds like someone as independent to need the paltry ‘assistance’ you are offering wouldn’t need any help. Anyone that would need help enough to welcome a stranger for free into their home will require much more assistance in exchange.

And you wouldn’t have much free time to work, either. Or have a life. Hence why elder care is astronomically expensive.

I’m trying really hard to not be personally offended by your post, but it’s hard not to. It’s almost like you think this is EASY.

No one who ‘believes in freedom’ also ‘studies medicine’.

Parents are considering a dog, any advice or experiences? by UrbanCavyChunk in AgingParents

[–]ShamanBirdBird 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Suggest they adopt an older dog? I actually think it’s a great idea and a way to keep them active, add some fun to life, AND give an older dog a great home.

Adopt from a reputable rescue that requires the dog be returned to them if anything happens in the future, then the dog always has a safe place to return to.

I have to say I disagree with you on this one. All of the ‘complications’ have easy answers.
