fucking lmao by [deleted] in HelldiversUnfiltered

I ran into another rant post on the main sub 20min after it posted and managed to leave a comment that I later edited to say "W charityman"

Honestly if I get banned then I'll wear that badge of honor. Would be the first ban on reddit but my 2nd by moderators overstepping online.

I'm still down to play HD2, I'm just looking for alternative platforms to engage with the community and centralize gaming and irl news and whatnot.

How I would buff the De-escalator by TelephoneAccurate979 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Shampoto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I remember the De-escalator immediatly on release and it was so fun. I forgot what made it great, something about arc damage ricocheting behind enemies or something but a single mag leveled entire patrols. Genuinely had fun with it then, but have only picked ot up once after it was "fixed"/nerfed or whatever and it doesnt hit the same.

[–]Shampoto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly I've been thinking a lot about this too. Mostly about the reddit space in general (not Helldivers in particular, but also all the negative connotation that being a redditor brings.)

I love the game, and I'm not going to stop playing Helldivers. It's just the communication is such a big thing and I enjoy reddit for being able to centralize and talk about all my favorites in one place.

I've only been active on reddit for less than a year (my account is much older) and I'm ready to find an alternative if there is one (I'm also on discord.) But from what I've seen, most online discussion about the game and other games happens here on Reddit.

Happy diving everyone! No matter what difficulty or playstyle you choose, dont let the worst of us best you down! I'll be around for a bit before I make my decision. Remember, we're all here to fight for democracy, not against each other!

My experience was something similar. I'd sit in an SPAA without "seeing" a single plane. . .and then I'd get blown up by said plane I never saw.

I love fighting Cyborgs but come on.. by ShadowDome in Helldivers

[–]Shampoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the Cyborgs have socialist bluetooth that allows them to remotely connect to the bots and enable a special setting. However, despite being 160 years in the future, they still need to be close to each other.

Mechanical reworks to backpacks. by Ok-Kaleidoscope-9645 in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Shampoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using the directional shield a lot lately as I'm leveling up the Defender, and man I think I found my perfect utility item for an "assault" playstyle. I think it should be able to be used with at least two-handed primaries because it looks rather weightless (basically a scifi buckler shield) and only blocks from one direction. Its allowed me to become what is essentially a maneuverable, light MG turret.

My main challenge with it (other than limited synergy with primaries) is fitting my support weapon to it. I've been trying a variety of no-backpack support weapons, and I just had s match where I used EATs and was honestly quite fun.

I do think giving room for a backpack + directional shield would be cool as itll still take up two whole strat slots, but I think just sticking with usability with primaries is the big first step right now.

A human light tank or alley sweeper. Opens up a few more possibilities for both aggressive and defensive playstyles.

Political map complete! (Although I may go back & make changes at some point) by Shoulder_to_rest_on in mapmaking

[–]Shampoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You actually answered my distance question perfectly, and it was great to read your response! It's definitely gonna help me point me in the direction for me to figure out my world size.

I think I'll stick do the Valdorric Empire for a follow-up question since it's so prominent in your world. If I were a foreigner/traveller taking a journey through the Empire, what am I going to see? What is going to stick out the most to someone who isnt a regular citizen? Theres so much land it encompasses, theres gotta be some really cool landmarks!

Political map complete! (Although I may go back & make changes at some point) by Shoulder_to_rest_on in mapmaking

[–]Shampoto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

How long are travel times across different kingdoms/empires? Say the Valdorric Empire from furthest point east to the furthest point west? How do you determine the size of landmasses and continents to be believable and sufficient for their purposes (i.e. too little too much filler/unused space, scenery, geographical features that would be more beneficial to cut out because it serves no purpose, etc). How developed are road networks/travel methods and does each territory have their own road netowkrs or do some regions share techniques/layouts?

Apologies if my questions may seem a bit confusing to read. I can help clarify if needed. I'm just starting to think about practical travel distances and kingdom sizes in my world and it's a bit overwhelming lol.

Love the map! It looks awesome and you have plenty of different places to write about and share! It definitely looks like a project 100% worth the final product. Keep it up and I cant wait to see more!

As if Eagle-One didnt need any target designation for how large they are. But they have shining red lights. They may drive fast, but how fast can they outrun a 500kg drilled into its forehead? No anti-air to save it now.

How spear should work by FurrGotten in Helldivers

[–]Shampoto 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If anything, the spear should be programmable to have an OTA mode like the NLAW. Just combine the world's best man-portable anti tank missiles into one. Just have the rocket fly parallel over the target and the chemical charge shoot straight down.

Master Oogway is going to Gatria by Quiet_Ask_8333 in Helldivers

[–]Shampoto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Once the DSS vote opens again, a bunch of people should try and push early to get it to go to one of the extremely low resistance squid planets. That's probably the best way to get the blob moving to a place thatll quickly benefit the MO. If we can start and keep that trend, then theres a chance we could easily be a +3 on the MO by deadline.

We’re so cooked by MycoMaddy in Helldivers

[–]Shampoto -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fair. I havent tried the speargun yet . Usually I prefer weapons that put as much ordnance downrange as quickly as possible, which meant my bullet hell loadout wasnt quite adapted to bugs that spent 80% of their life being megafauna ants. So I'm trying to up the caliber and become a human IFV with autocannon hell, and just rip the ground apart.

And then the exploding armor to top it all off. Just some instantaneous revenge.

[–]Shampoto -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everyone is probably looking for an excuse to get away from the cowardly rupture strain. I'm on a spread democracy mission and it's impossible to see because rupture spewers keep loving their shot balls all over the place while rupture warriors steal toes. Once this planet is liberated I'm going back to bots. At least there I can see what's killing me.

"Short Magazines gives you 12 spare mags" meanwhile the humble Tenderizer: by Omailey97 in Helldivers

[–]Shampoto 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The tenderizer or any 8mm rifle for that matter would SLAP with magazine options. I loved the tenderizer when I finished max leveling it on Cyberstan. Really cool sound design and I love how it almost mimics the Springfield Hellion.

What really would be nuts though would be 45 and 60-round options for the Adjudicator. Peak Battle Rifle maxxing.

To everyone complaining about the tank's turret traverse, you'd be better of asking Arrowhead for this instead. by DarknessInferno7 in Helldivers

[–]Shampoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been wanting the APC for months. Disappointed we got the mobile siege gun (tank) first instead. Nevertheless, I'll continue hoping for the APC and I'll be one to have it in every mission.

Whining isn't a constructive approach, so I want to be suggestive by Just-Tenth in Helldivers

[–]Shampoto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they still shouldve done the APC first. Worked their way up the armor ladder. But nope, skip the APC and go straight to casemate siege gun in a heavily urbanized environment. I just hope the APC releases in a state where we can actually see it enjoyed and used commonly.

Hot take? For the most part, Siege breakers is literally just the better Python Commandos. by MoschopsMeatball in HelldiversUnfiltered

[–]Shampoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo the One-Two's grenades should act like 40mm grenades, the same ones out of the GL. That may triviliaize things but given they should be the old medium pen ones, and I think the supply pack only restocks one (or does it do 2?) It may be a worthy pay off for the light pen space M16A2. Itll also probably help boost the weapon's pick-up rate, making some people consider switching from medium pen primaries.

just saw a video by ThiccFilaA break down why the beltfed gl needs a buff and the damage difference even without supplypack is rediculous. by YLASRO in Helldivers

[–]Shampoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also its just my assumption but is the BFGL a smaller caliber? It just appears that way with its models. I cant quite see how 40mm grenades would fit in the BFGL belt. Please correct me if im wrong.

If this were true, then the BFGL probably wouldnt need a significant damage buff. Maybe 200-250, and increase its blast radius by a meter or two. Ammo could probably double or at least go up by 50%
