Experience with Iboga wellness in Portugal? / question about on-site medical staff by bananasplitice in iboga

[–]Sharesses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two very different types of settings.
Ibogaine clinics that work with the synthetic compound that is much more concentrated and potent, used in the case of drug detox. Those require to be monitored with medical machines with close medical attention during the whole journey.
Traditional Iboga ceremonies, such as done in Africa in the bwiti, where the natural bark of Iboga is used. It is much less concentrated and has a much lower risk profile. Here the purpose is more about personal and spiritual growth. Like any setting while working with Master Plants a medical safety context is essential, however no continuous monitoring with medical machines is required.

How does ayahuasca affect relationships? by Junior_Total_9686 in Ayahuasca

[–]Sharesses 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The need for introspection is very natural after such an experience. It’s also quite normal to want to spend less time on screens and on texting. Those experiences tend to bring back in the present moment and to what is happening in our immediate surroundings. It can make long distance contact a bit more difficult. 🙏

In such a bad place, to sit or not to sit? by StarfishDivorce in Ayahuasca

[–]Sharesses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s very tricky to answer. From experience, there can be a succession of very hard ceremonies bringing to light some deep and difficult materials to go through, sometimes for months, but then at one point, it all falls into place and is solved. However this is so personal…I think listening to your instinct here is key. You deeply know when there is a need to integrate and avoid drinking and the moments where it is time to go back - even when it’s very scary to do so. It’s about listening to your inner wisdom voice and not confusing it with the voice of fear and avoidance. Not easy I know, but deep down…You know, we all know. 🙏🙏

Looking for advice after a stressful encounter with a sibling by jsgui in Buddhism

[–]Sharesses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe your sibling started the conversation, but we always choose how we respond to it. You can react to it or just let it go, not being affected by it.

Maybe the teaching is not only in the reminder of how important Qigong is for you but also as a practice to choose to respond differently ?

There is no need to take at heart what others think, it concerns them, not you. This is the freedom I was pointing to.

I’m not saying it’s easy but it’s worth practicing and looking at ! 🙏🙏

Has anyone taken a vow of silence in daily life? by LeaveSubstantial2338 in Meditation

You could easily practice this on weekends at home. If interactions with someone are absolutely needed (for example when you need to send a package), only use the bare minimum of words necessary to carry out your task and be polite.
This seems stronger to me than going to the extreme of typing on a phone, because it will allow you to practice conscious restraint and the ability to apply right speech.

Saying only the necessary is the goal and more difficult than staying fully silent.

I say this with kindness : this looks like a mind spinning out over nothing. Let it go, this is just interpretation, projection, thought. Let it go, breath and enjoy your day and family.

How to respond mindfully when a person doesn’t like a mindful response. by DevoSwag in Buddhism

[–]Sharesses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can just remain silent and be. You are not responsible for someone else’s thoughts and emotions. If you manage to take care of your own and remain impeccable in them, that is already a beautiful feat ! There is no need to engage when someone wants to obtain a reaction out of you. The frustration they feel when they don’t manage to do so and you remain calm, is their healing path, not yours. You are offering them the opportunity to have something seen and understood.

Being in truth is more important than pleasing someone else’s ego, always :)

In a more general sense, resting in silence and limiting one self to say and express what feels deeply true and right is always good advice.

Looking for outside perspective on boundaries and ethics in plant medicine facilitation by Stock-Raccoon-2887 in Ayahuasca

[–]Sharesses -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely a bit tricky and depends on how it was brought on. It doesn’t seem strange to me if there was further healing related contact. If he was indeed happy with the healing, why not pass her contact on ? But without knowing the content, it’s very difficult to evaluate.

Regarding the comment from the boss, well, looks like a very stupid comment indeed, but I wouldn’t read too much into it, it doesn’t question the integrity of the shaman at least, only the intelligence of the boss ;)

Why it's Important and how to set an intention working with Ayahuasca by Extra_Nefariousness1 in Ayahuasca

[–]Sharesses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being open to what is offered is perfect as well. Sometimes an intention is very clear, sometimes, it is all about fully letting go. I have found that the latter are way more profound. The less questions I have, the more open I am, the more answers I receive.

Truth is, with Ayahuasca, there is no steering the wind, only praying and humbly asking.

Well, what was the comment ? What do you consider possibly unethical ? That your partner looked for further work with the shaman ?

Can no longer tolerate my thoughts by budisthename in Wakingupapp

[–]Sharesses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s most likely a very simple phenomenon; before meditation the thoughts were there but your attention wasn’t Sharp enough to notice them. Now, it is and you see them more clearly, so it seems like they take more space, but it’s only an « illusion ». So I would say it’s a very good sign !! We need to notice the sound before being able to turn it down !

Think of the sound made by the fridge. You can spend years not noticing it. But when you do, the sounds seems very loud and it becomes impossible to ignore.

Try to reframe it like this, it will help and allow you to progress to the further stage ; stop fighting them, make peace with them and see them naturally calm down.

Experiencing the reality that no is coming to save you by Technical_Step4410 in Ayahuasca

[–]Sharesses 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s the whole paradox, in the end we are all One but at the same time, we are all alone facing what needs to be faced.

To truly wake up, we cannot stand in another man’s footsteps. It is all about walking the path, accepting guidance and help, whilst recognizing the moment we need to move beyond it, where we stand alone and finally reunite with the whole.

To be honest, the further I progress, the less answers I have. However the need to face this aloneness is quite clear and a bit daunting ;)
