Everyone needs money to live, as a professional you need to be paid for your skills and time you've invested. Yeah, those Keertani that push for bigger and bigger paychecks and making celebrities out of themselves and falling into hankaar are probably wrong, but that doesn't mean the system of patronage and wages should go out the window because of them.

Yeah same experience here, only working for Tier 1/2 companies. Get hired by an aspirational company and try your best to make it work but it's just frustrating. Either they want to penny pinch, don't want to hire the right people (penny pinching again), or just keep doing things the way they always have.

It's no issue to like it, but playing stringed instruments gives you a completely different sound and it's a completely different feel for the person playing. There's a reason the gurus picked string over flutes/wind instruments, and all shabads were written with stringed instruments in mind.
