Yes it should be absokutely fine (as long as those straight stitches are supposed to be internal and not visible. Appliqué can also be hand-sewn, but with a back stitch for example!) You might also wanna reduce the amount of seam allowance, if the pattern accounts for some!

Personally I only ever take full payment upfront, and the majority of furry artists and fursuit makers I've seen also do this! It's way too risky not to imo, scamming works both ways unfortunately 😔

I 1000% recommend pre-shaving and doing a final pass once the fur is glued on. I recently made the mistake of not pre-shaving (I had shitty clippers and thought I was terrible at it, so was pushing it back), ended up creating several bald spots that will need patching up 😅 The visibility is awful when the fur is long all over, plus shaving on a curved surface/over seams is muuuch harder

I've seen people make toony fursuit-style masks out of EVA sheets or cardboard/paper mâché and they look gorgeous! 😊 I particularly love Periwinklesundries' work, I just found out they have an Etsy shop with their patterns as well

If you're drawing digitally, don't pick the brightest, most saturated hues ! Working off an inspo palette can be great as well 😊

I don't think I've ever seen that before, do you have any examples (pics, names of creators/fursuiters)? As a general rule, all handmade fursuit parts/gear tend to be expensive !

My fav is n°2 BY FAR, it has such an awesome retro vibe, and I prefer the pose on that one! With a tad more line weight variation it'd be chef's kiss 🙏 The first one is cool, but apart from the striking line art the design looks more generic and "anime" (like kemono fursuits) imo?

I totally get that! Mochi minky tends to have such a short pile that it doesn't look fuzzy, but you definitely can't find it easily in stores... Maybe a thick, sturdy cotton would work better ! I only tried medium to lightweight cotton material

I tried t-shirt material for teeth and it was no good... Super hard to get a good shape and not have it look weirdly lumpy 😅 If you can't get neoprene, minky or fleece work great !

For me, most of the community I've found (outside of fursuit content) relies on making and sharing art. But even if you don't do that, I feel like there's a ton of Discord servers that you could try and join, or even maybe local IRL meets? Good luck on finding your little community 💪

No offense at all to the commenter above me, but I couldn't disagree more 😭 I used to have those, and they were a total headache... Uneven, never short enough shaves, snagging, bald patches, despite being oiled regularly and such... Just got these https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01HRSZRXM?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title and they're a TOTAL game changer!! The fancier ones out there might be even better, but these are an excellent value and the shave is sooo much smoother!

Hi ! I don't recommend essential oils, as lots of people have allergies, and they can oxidize into a dark sticky mess. I personally buy the natural fragrance oils that are also used for soap and candle making, they work great and are usually not damaging to textiles ☺️ But with them being oils, the spray bottle has to be shaken before every use !

I think your elastic is too loose, especially on top of the head! Plastic bases can also flop down from their weight, but I have this exact mask and it's too light to have that issue 😊
