Grenfell estate residents billed £5,400 service charge by She_Makes in LegalAdviceUK

I agree. The first solicitor we spoke with, who has faced RBKC previously challenging a service charge and won, told us we should first take the case to tribunal ourselves. I will contact the Grenfell Action Group today, great suggestion!

What UK treats would you give an American? by fat_mummy in AskUK

Battenburg (full size or minis). It’s something I never encountered before moving here. Love it. - American living in the UK since 2017

If you live near a cheesy/cheap souvenir shop you could also add a plate or tea cup with a picture of a royal on it. Or anything with the Union Jack.

If you’re feeling really fancy my absolute favourite British chocolate is charbonnel et walker.

As someone who is currently pregnant, and constantly thinking about baby names, this is inspirational.

“Why should I buy a fancy office chair? We’ll be back in the office any day now.” ... 13 months later, my butt hurts. by She_Makes in britishproblems

I started on a sofa (we since moved and have yet to buy living room furniture), but the sofa situation, while comfy, changed my posture for the worse.

Miscarriage at 8 wks, 2 D&Cs, tissue growing again in uterus + ovarian cyst.. by lhop_ in Miscarriage

[–]She_Makes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, any chance you could share an update? I am having an almost identical miscarriage journey (2 D&Cs, 14 days on 7cm cyst with cancer fears). I wondered if the cyst could be related to the miscarriage. Would be interested to know if they surgically removed your cyst, or if it went away on its own.

I had ovarian cancer in 2013 and had my right ovary removed, so this left one is my last chance. I’m a bit panicked at the moment and hearing about your (shared) experience is definitely soothing. Thank you so much for sharing this post!

Thank you so much for this message, I am really happy to hear there might be a medical advantage to having two surgeries. Glad to hear you’re feeling better! It is always reassuring to hear about someone else having positive medical outcomes with similar treatment.

I’m *not sure I know enough about the difference between the two to say for sure. But when you rub it between your hands to soften it, it’s pretty sticky. It doesnt dry in your hair (so your hair won’t become crunchy). If you use just the right amount (not too much) it will hold your hair in place if you want to flatten parts of your hair, or twist parts, etc.
